Wednesday Pay Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday Pay Day

Postby Nasoosie » Wed Mar 19, 2014 7:59 am

Good Morning to all.

Another wonderful day with my old high school friend. Then a horror happening when my son came to inspect the carpentry done on the house. He said it was atrocious work, unacceptable, and to not give them another cent without his approval. While he was here, the boss carpenter called saying he had just been released from the hospital. When he heard what Weldon had to say, he rushed over to the house and they had a "confrontation". The upshot was that Ken was bringing the police over here this morning to pick up his tools from the garage, and that he was finished with this job. After about a half hour, his live-in girl/wife called to say he didn't wish to end things like this, and did we still wish him to finish the job? Of course we do, but with him doing it, not his boy/apprentices who tried to work without him and botched things up terribly. He will take today off to try to feel better, and will come tomorrow to see what can be done to rectify things. I feel awful as, when he asked me how I liked the work and if I was satisfied, I said yes. I don't know enough about construction to know shoddy work when I see it. It looked fine to me. Anyway, I am glad he phoned back to say he would like to follow-up on the job and make it right, if Weldon would show up daily after work to tell him if he liked it, or not. I hate confrontations like that. Fred leaves today, and I need to pay bills as it's social security pay day for me. Happy 3rd Wednesday of March to all.

Wow! That is rough! My dad was a contractor and I learned a bunch from him, but I still had to deal with shoddy work and confrontations when we owned a house. I'll never understand how people can do that, do that not have any pride in their work??

Good morning.
Glad the owner wants to work things out with you, Soos.
My back is very unhappy, so bad I cancelled appointment for Nicky's much needed bath this morning. Moving is just too painful still.
While I was gone, cable company started switch over to only digital broadcast which means I have to have convertor boxes installed if I want to watch TV (my subscription is basic not digital). Tech to be here this afternoon to take care of that problem.
It is grocery shopping day if I can move a bit better by afternoon.
Tomorrow have to move Magic into a monthly site at campground and get reminder of food out plus some clothes. Cleaning will have to wait a while.
Also have a stack of mail almost a foot tall to sort, then it is on to taxes.
Needs to be something with more fun on this list but will settle for back pain to subside.
Have a good one.

Good morning all! :)

G'grief, I've been MIA for quite a while again! Thought I'd check in--spent a day last week trying to catch up on reading, then never got around to posting

So much going on for everybody--won't take time to comment on specifics, but hope everyone is happy/healthy, including fam/friends/four-leggers! And those of you who have been in the deep freeze, hope spring is truly on it's way for you!

Tigger developed a cough over the weekend, so now I have another patient to add to my list. Aunt & Cousin have had many dr appts. Cousin gets her cast off today & goes into a boot, which might allow her more mobility. Thinking I will get to my sis's in O'side for a couple days of R&R this weekend. Weather has been absolutely gorgeous, so whenever I have a break, I sit in the sun--half comatose!

Okay, y'all have a great day, & I'll try to be better about keeping up with all of you! Be safe wherever you are! 8-)

I'm so sorry about that, Soos! 'Never trust a contractor' is a rule for me (my father was in the business too). I think it's because most of them hire cheap untrained labor, and even if they try, they just don't know how to do that job. I'm glad the man is trying to make it right!

Hope you feel better soon, Sarah.

Today is paying bills and grocery shopping. I love check day!

The old rig is in getting the solar removed. I'm to let them know as soon as they can take the new so they can start that installation and some of the other work. In other words I shouldn't be on here. Oh well lol. Lots left now isn't going to be organized too well yet. I need a few other storage bins/ shelving, so going to see where I can just hide some of this mess. Danger there is u can imagine some staying hidden for years.

Hope everyone has a great day. Time for me to get to work!

Now you have the fun of putting everything where you want it and decorating the place to your taste! That is the part I like most about moving into a new place. Making it mine!

I just ordered another kayak (the one I ordered last week came in the wrong color). This one is a hard sided sit-on kayak instead. It is smaller and light weight so should be fairly easy to handle and load on my Jeep. Could actually go IN my Jeep if I am not packing a lot of other stuff in there. It will also be easier to clean than a regular enclosed kayak. My old one was a PITA to clean out sand, leaves, water, etc!

Should get it by the end of the month. I am thinking I can make a cover for the front of it to keep my legs from getting wet or sunburned. Will see how creative I can get with that idea!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
