Good morning.....For some darn reason Ernie & I are both up at 5am today...so we've hit the laptops early, each of us with coffee to sip.... ;)

Today is planned for some shopping and to get my hair cut...then back home again.....The temp is cooler this morning...47F right now...high is forecast 64F for today...I like the cooler weather...Ernie's into the 70s & 80s....neither of us like cold.....

Okay, looks like I need more "Java" to get the brain going today, so will stop for now...

Have a great day, all.......

The Miracle of a Sunrise

Postby DearMissMermaid » Wed Dec 11, 2013 8:01 am

I woke up late at 5am to 65F degrees in my little old motorhome in Melbourne FLorida. I just love getting up before the sunrise, opening all the shades and waiting to watch the sun come up. It's a daily miracle I can't seem to get tired of at all. Many days I am up by 4am, waiting on that gorgeous sun rise. I spend the darkness time doing mundane things like yesterday's dishes, sweeping the floor, washing a small load of clothes. (I have a compact washer).

Whenever I sleep past sunrise, I feel such guilt that I missed out on a gorgeous "morning has broken" miracle. In this time of year with super short days, I want to enjoy every minute of daylight and sunshine.

My dog on the other hand, will hide under the covers or his blanket or my pillow, so the sunlight doesn't bother him. He wants to sleep in late and ignore my silly early morning antics. It means I can't make up the bed until I can get him out of it later in the morning, but that's OK too. I am just so glad I have a silly little dog to travel with.

Life is grand. :D The sun came up so I know it's going to be a fantastic day!

Good morning Lori, Ava and all to follow:)

Yahoo, I too was up early, but too ecstatic to write til now--the first extermination has made a world of difference. I felt like toasting with champagne, but only have beer in my frig! NO, I've not had any (yet) LOL

Looks like another beautiful day here in FL. Those of us down here sure don't want to brag, so will just say we're expecting a cool down tomorrow--to the 70°s hahahah

Baja Babes making progress, hooray! Especially happy for Mitch and her new boobies LOL

Y'all have a great day and safe travels always!!!

Good Morning to all! It's cooler this morning in Orlando---Carol, you should be a happy camper! It's all the way down to 61 degrees! A hefty breeze is blowing out there as well. I was hoping we might get a bit of rain as this 'cold' front moved through, but we got zip. I guess I will see if my hoses work today and water my poor thirsty shrubs and roses. I hope those of you still north get a break from the ice and snow----including those of you in Texas and Arizona, heading to Baja! I made a yummy batch of English toffee candy last night to see if it would work, and it did! Maybe I can give that for Christmas presents this year as it doesn't cost much to make it. Just need to get some pretty boxes to put it in. Happy Wednesday to all!

Good Morning all,

Very cold here but I am cleaned up after the snow and ice of Sunday and the extra snow yesterday. I am so fortunate in that I have driveway elves who live across the street from me. :D The schools were closed again yesterday so the two teens came over and shoveled the 100ft driveway and the path and steps up to the front door.

Not much going on here, just keeping warm and getting Christmas cards done.
Have a great day.

Good Morning ladies… oh what a relief it will be today with high in the 70s… it is a bit cooler here in Ocala than where you are Soos according to my readings it was a cool 51 for a low last night it is now 58…
I will do laundry today now that it has cooled down!
There are always people out walking early… I have to get awake before that happens…
Carol glad the extermination is going well… will her POA have the exterminator come regularly? Other wise all you have done is for naught…
Beth I hope you are feeling better today…. Sure hope the BaJa bound are in a warmer spot…
Take care everyone…

-7 below right now, but is the last day (for now) of the subzero stuff. Got the day off and am doing a detailed housecleaning today. Tired of all the clutter all over.

Hope you all have a nice, safe and warmer day today! :D

I know it is no longer morning, but Soos, how about posting your English toffee recipe?

I almost ran out of propane last night--little red "empty/low" button was flashing red. Had to turn down the thermostat. (Electric heater died a few days ago.) Then this morning, got up and got a refill in the nearby gas station.

I also have been out hiking Golden Canyon. Actually, it was really more like walking Golden Canyon along with the group on a ranger talk. This is a really pretty little canyon and if it weren't for the few rocks you have to clamber over at the entrance, it is almost handicap accessible because of the flat surface in most parts.

This is a terrific time of year to visit Death Valley, by the way, in spite of this cold snap. Days are beautiful and sunny, and campgrounds are almost empty. No traffic on roads or in parking areas and trails also.

She already posted it - but it was in the General Room - I moved it to the Recipe room.
