February 1st

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hi Everyone! Didn't get to post this morning as I had to go pickup the rental car I had arranged for last night. Their computer system was down when Paul and I got there so we went and had a hamburger in The Villages. Sent my aunt a message about where we were at the hamburger place thinking she was still playing golf. I didn't know she was finished. She got to the restaurant right after we left. When we finally did get the rental car, had to come back to the rig to let the dogs out again and get my checkbook I had forgotten when Enterprise picked us up this morning. I forgot to say "Rabbits" this morning so I guess today was the effects of that. Paul and I then drove to Ocala to look at a Honda FIT. After seeing all the FITs at the GTG, I was really convinced this was the way to go for a tow vehicle. Nan was really great and showed me all the features of hers and how easy it was to get ready to tow. I am now the proud owner of a 2010 Honda FIT. It took about 3 hours to get the deal done because they had to contact Texas for the correct forms and tax rates for Polk County. I was so tired of waiting. I had it insured, got an ID card and dec page about an hour before I finally was able to write the check for it. I don't get to pick it up until Monday because I want it completely Honda Certified to make sure if I have a problem, I can get it serviced under warranty at any Honda dealership. After I get it, need to put a new set of tires on it. After that, need to get a base plate and braking system ordered and installed.

Tina, my kayak is here! Barb texted me that it came in today. She is going to bring it over tomorrow and we are going to have lunch. My aunt is coming too. We should have a great time. Barb Zee came over last night and we had a great visit.

Red, I sure hope the problems with the truck are as easy as the jack was on the 5th wheel.

Wendy, hope your black eye clears up really fast. Bless your heart. What next, huh. I will check with the office in the next day or two to see what we can do about getting you and Sarah in here for a few days or a week. How long do you think you will be here so I can tell them? If not here, there is a KOA not far from here. I can check there too. I'll have a car now to get us around. There are plenty of places you can get food out a window around here.

Carolb, it is hard getting back into a routine after a GTG. It's almost a let down.

Kathleen, you are doing great on your diet.

Paulette, so glad Elvis is doing so much better.

Lori, hope you had fun spending Ernie's money today.

Soos, I sure hated having to leave yesterday. I think you did a great job of picking the SP. It was great! I never did get to see an alligator though. Maybe next year.

Martha, don't you just hate it when you bring a vehicle in to have something fixed and then they call you to ask if you want it fixed. Frustrating!

I sure hope Ms.Tessa keeps on doing well. Luke hasn't been feeling well today. He was pretty listless this morning. He has these spells sometimes after a driving day. I am glad we are going to be here for a month. I think it will be good for him. Some of the driving days are hard on him. Driving days don't seem to bother Rascal or Belle, but they are a lot younger than Luke.

Well, going to get caught up on the postings from the day. Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe day.

Dawn, I think you are the only one that didn't see an alligator. :)

Colleen, I know. Paul and I even took one of Tina's kayaks out on the river. I think they knew I was kind of afraid of seeing one. God was watching out for me.

Kathleen, i know there were 19 women in the picture but there were more folks at the GTG....some folks only came for a day, like Bonnie and Terry and JoanE..... And here were the new folks that we kept inviting to all the dinners.....

I'm not slow or anything. It took me a while to figure out what you meant about Wendy getting food out a window. I thought you were giving her food out your window.

Congratulations on the new Fit. I would sure like have a car to tow but I'm not ready to give up my van yet. I looked to see if it could be towed. The manual says you can only tow it 50 miles and then the engine has to be run. Would take a long time to get any where.

  Martha, out the window is Wendy's favorite way to get food. I have to give her a hard time about it.  I could not believe she actually cooked something at the GTG. She really can cook something.
