Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wed warmth

Good morning all! :D

Some nasty weather for the Texans--hope y'all are safe. Thankfolly, very mild here, & still looking great for my traveling the next few days. Lori, I'm so happy that we'll get a mini gtg on my way to FL!! I sent a PM yore way this morning...Hope all of yew who had/have medical issyews are faring well today. Enzo's mom, so yowng, bt if it saves her life!...

Thanks for all the "relax" wishes from everybody. Okay, I'll be cool abot it 8-) Deep breaths, yes. Also making certain I get sleep--took benadryl last night & will do the same tonight! And I keep telling myself "yo'll be in yore HOME on the road"--that makes a big difference. Traveling by car, it was always drive hard, long & fast so I wooldn't have many nights sleeping in my car. Now, I'll have most of the comforts of home, so if my 2 1/2 day trip to FL ends-p taking me 5 days, no biggie, right?

Okay ladies, my last day to get it together--bt I do think I'm already there. If I stay here any longer, I'll have my entire howse packed in my HB!

Y'all have a great day, be safe, & now I'll go have a cp of coffee with Lori :P Oh, bt yo're all welcome there too!

Good morning Carol & everyone!

Carol, that is so exciting that you'll be heading out soon for your trip south. It sounds like the weather will be perfect for being on the road, so enjoy the drive. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Since I don't drink coffee, I'll have a glass of chocolate milk. If anyone else would like some, help yourself.

It's mild here in Ocala this morning. We're waking up to 66 degrees and we'll get into the high 70's to low 80's today. It's sort of cloudy and hazy right now but the sun will burn that off. There aren't any activities scheduled at the park today, but we'll find something to get into. Yesterday we went to Staples and picked up the powercord that was ordered for my laptop. It's nice being able to use it again.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the AZ GTG and any other possible GTG's. Be careful on the road everyone and take care!

Morning all. Have good wifi here so stayed up late watching Downton Abby. Woke up at 6:30 to pea soup fog so went back to sleep. Now am having a quick bite and out to see a little of the city before moving on. Left my bike at a shop to have some repairs and should be ready later this morning. Weather looks great here but saw all the rain in TX. Hope all in the area can stay dry. Just glad I'm not driving in it.

Good morning, Carolb, Irmi, Grammynmaggie. and all those who follow... :) I was up early (4:45am) .....played some on the computer, took Spinner out for his walk, then tried to lay down, but alas, there will be a nap in my future today... ;)

Not much planned for the day...going to go to Walmart, get a hair cut, and pickup a few things...

The weather is suppose to be beautiful for the next 5 days...sunny with the temps in the high 70s, maybe even low 80s....guess that's what they call a "January thaw" in GA....

Okay, better go...if you are traveling, be safe....and to all Have a Great Day!!!

Now more coffee, please..... ;)

Good morning everyone. It is grey, overcast and warm...60 and feels like 70. It got warm last night. I got busy moving stuff into the rig before the rain started. The calm before the storm. The second wave big thunder storms were suppose to hit us last night stalled causing serious weather for the area NW of here. Now scheduled to arrive around 11 am causing some flooding, I'm sure. I was lucky yesterday. Each one of my errands skirted around the storm. Wet, but no rain as I ran in then back out of the stores, clinics, etc. but when I got home it had just stopped raining and all the pastures were flooded and I could hear the water pumps. DH said the rain came in sheets. I guess I had my personal angel holding an umbrella for me yesterday. Hope I have the same luck today :P

Off to pick up meds for DH, Tyler and me to last us for the whole trip. Then Tyler goes to the groomer. I've been grooming him myself, but my head/neck injury makes it too painful for me. But Tyler started to have stress diarrhea on the table at the other groomers. He'd gone there for over a year, but I guess all the dogs and noise got to him. They had multiple groomers with lots of dogs barking, whining, etc. so I started grooming him myself again. Now I found a nice shop that only has one groomer and she is going to do Tyler when no other dogs are around. This will be his first time with her. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Everyone have a wonderful day. Stay warm and stay safe on the road. Aloha yall

Good Morning,

We had a beautiful day yesterday (it actually got warm) and a wonderful time on the trails! Only 3 machines so we had the time to explore a couple side trails, one I had never been on. It went down into a valley where a miner lived in the 1920's, had mules and a garden. He supplied produce to the couple living atop the mountain at the Smithsonian weather station. The construction of his rock buildings, as with many others around here, was quite amazing - no cement or mortar.

Machines are already loaded so we are off again this morning to spend another day riding. Weather is suppose to be nice today and then take a bad turn tomorrow.

The cotton has been cut in this area so the cotton trucks are on the road. The view from the top of the mountain sure gives a different perspective of the desert when you can see the fields laid out from up there.

Enjoy your day!

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

It feels like one of the hottest days of the summer if I were back in my northern home! To have it in the high 70s at this hour is amazing! Doors and windows are already open, and the fresh air feels and smells so great!

Zapping appointment number 5 this afternoon, so this morning I will pedal my bike around for a bit and perhaps go to the club. OR....if Mandy calls me, we can Skype and I can watch Orion being the two-footed boy he now is, getting into so many things back at my house!

I see that some of you will be heading south at last! Yes, when you have your house right with you on the roads, no matter what, you will always be home with all your most favorite things about you! That is the part about hauling rather than car-traveling that I like the most. If you need many overnights, go for it! If you are not tired and feel like driving farther one day, go for it! I would like to try to see some of you when you get down here, even before the GTG, if possible, keeping in mind I need to be here 3 days a week for my zapping appointments. Let me know where you all will be!

Time to feed the pups and take them for a walk now, too. Hope you all are doing something fun for yourselves this morning. Coffee is hot, so stop in and give us a word or two.

Happy Wednesday, and Happy travels to some of you!

Happy travels!

All kinds of watches and warnings out for today and they are making such a big deal about the weather here - all the local EOCs are open in case it does get ugly. But they are now saying it may not be as bad as first feared. I know as of 10 last night, my part of town had gotten over 1.3" of rain but it came in waves. It wasn't raining on my drive in to work this morning and the roads were pretty clear. Midday is when it's supposed to hit again - whee, just in time for lunch!

And then we get to do it again this weekend. Red, I hope y'all don't have any problems traveling. It was a little rainy when we left on our trip but we didn't have any problems that first day, then we had several good days before the next rains.

Hot, hot, hot here in Florida. Humid, too. I am finishing up some laundry and having some late breakfast--homemade banana nut bread. I have two old friends who happen to be vacationing down here, and we are getting together for dinner tonight. One of them is picking me up soon, and we are driving down to take a boat tour in Everglades City and then meeting the other two for dinner in Naples. Really nice to have company.

Have a good day, all. I will bake some banana nut bread for the GTG, so you will have to wait until then.

Well, Tina, I am so glad you asked!! Mainly because I went back and looked at my blog post from nearly 2 years ago and saw what I had forgotten about that trip!! :) I have been saying we didn't go in the mine - oops. This time we didn't. Plus sign telling about the young woman who lived there is now gone - as are all the narrative signs.

So here's the link to my 2011 post http://anitasadventures.wordpress.com/2011/02/01/january-28-2011-smithsonian-observatory/ regarding the ride to the Smithsonian Observatory we took yesterday.
