Postby carolb » Wed Dec 05, 2012 6:29 am

Good morning all! Yes, still laffing at Vicki's comment--one of the last posts on yesterday's MC--Oh yew are tooooo f-nny! All the talk abot colonoscopy--yep, my gyno talked abot it, bt I decided nope. Maybe some day. That's a whole "nother" story...Hope all are well this morning. 8-) Looks like temps will begin to drop all over the contry, so we've had owr last fling with warmth. "Grammynmaggie" over the flew??? glad yore feeling better!!! Tessa doing better?! Soos, I'm wondering why is Dinah on phenobarbitol so soon, as my vet said only if seizing becomes more than a monthly thing--has Dinah been having them more than yo've let on? Or shoold I qwestion my dr's advice??? Will look into that....Biking! I've been thinking I will strap my bike onto my HarBor--only place is the back spare tire bar. Think that will work? Lori & crew, also foll-timers! What a great life!. Hope Pawl fownd his keys! Now BTW :?: :?: too many "Maggies"!!!! Who's who? I have a grammynmaggie (yew were the one that was sick?); sandersmrs is "Maggie"; & then CArol has "Maggie"??? So I gess I need "grammy's" name, as I'm certain I've called yew "Maggie," bt that's yore dog??  Well, y'all have a great day! Be safe on the road & looking forward to meeting so many of yew! :P

Good morning Carolb & everyone!

Carol, you won't know how to type if you ever get your "yew" working and I get such a kick out of reading your posts. It used to be sort of like deciphering a code but now it comes automatic! LOL!

It's damp and chilly in MD and the temperatures we're having right now will be our daytime highs. The milder temperatures sure were nice while we had them.

I arrived at my parents house yesterday, spent the night and I'll be leaving around noontime today. Yesterday I made them Shepherds Pie for dinner which they had never had before and seemed to enjoy. This morning they want German pancakes for breakfast. The egg whites are beat into a meringue and folded into the egg, milk, flour batter and after being cooked, the pancakes come out nice and fluffy. Some of those at last years FL GTG were introduced to them and seemed to enjoy them.

Our insurance adjuster contacted us yesterday and our insurance company is coming through to help with the repairs to several ceilings in our house damaged by Sandy. The damage from the flood itself is another story but it will all come together, so we are thrilled.

Dawn, I'm curious, too, if Paul ever found his ignition key. This is a reminder that we'll start taking our spare keys with us for the just in case.

Good morning Carolb and everyone else. I love it that you help me keep up with everyone. Now that I am back at work, I don't have the time to read all the posts like I was doing. In my work, I do have FB up all the time so I see if there is a new notification there. Paul did not find his keys so he and Mom drove to Chevy dealer. They took VIN and said it could be one of 4 keys so they made all 4 for Paul. They drove back here and only one would go in ignition but would not start the motor. They went back to dealership. They buffed the key. Paul and Mom drove back here. Still no luck, so Paul went back. They told Paul it appears the ignition switch had been changed either by Tiffin or previous owner. They put Paul in touch with the locksmith they use. The locksmith is supposed to be out here today. He is supposed to be able to look at the switch itself and know what key to make. When he does, Paul is going to have 4 keys made. Mom and I will each have one, he will have one and one will probably go in the toad somewhere. I need to put my extra set of keys in the toad. I have one of those magnetic boxes for that.

My DirecTV receiver was not able to pick up my satellite signal in my bedroom last night so tech had me change out the receiver to the one Red and Sasquatch were using in Livingston. Still same response from the receiver. Tech said would have someone come to the house to take a look at. That's when I found out why I still had local channels even though I had East Coast feed. I had 2 accounts with DirecTV! The person who was supposed to change me from a residential account to a mobile account never discontinued the residential account. After 6 customer service transfers and 2 hours, I finally was connected to a young man, who after me explaining my situation one more time, said "I see the problem and give me a minute or two and I can fix this for you". Good to his word, in less than 2 minutes, the local channels went away, my account only shows a billing address of Livingston and my cell phone is now the phone number on the account. When my next bill hits, I will have to make sure I don't get billed for 2 accounts. Bad part is that since I am mobile, they cannot send a tech to fix. Paul has the knowledge to track the problem down but if it is the connection on the dish on my roof, I will have to get Mobile RV service to fix that. I am hoping the problem is inside the rig. In the meantime, I still have the channels coming in through the regular antenna. The receiver in the livingroom is still doing great and the one in my bedroom I only watch early in the morning or late at night.

Oh the joys of full time RV'ing.  Also finally opened the box with the CB last night and will have to get an antenna for that. Will need to get the CB and that installed too. I see another call to my RV guy again today to have him do that too but need to go get 2 antennas. One for me and one for Paul. Mom has doctor's appt this afternoon and we are supposed to leave in the morning. During all this, I have a customer who is looking for a particular pair of boots in a particular size that was featured on my website last fall. Will have to check with all my advertisers who have shoes and boots to see if I can still find them somewhere for her today. Going to be a really busy day again. My driving day looks like it will be my day for down time.

I hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning, everyone...
So much going on around here. Where else can you find out about noises under your bed, medical issues for people & fur friends alike, travelogues, mechanical recommendations & good friends when you need a shoulder to cry on or share a hearty laugh! :D
We are surely blessed to have each other. :)
Had my sisters over for a 'girls night out' last night... Always a good incentive to get the house really clean (at least the main rooms  ), figured out how we're going to handle Christmas this year (an open house at bro's house on the 23rd (mom's bday) -but no need to exchange kids names etc - they get enough at home - just time together will be good). Rehashed our first Thanksgiving without having everyone together (each family had a very good day - the crowds at Mom's really were getting a little out of hand). Starting to figure out how we will all convene from here on out to keep the younger generations together - possibly camping trips, picnics, - anywhere with open spaces where the little ones can run & play while we can visit watching our kids tend to their kids (woohoo)
Well, it's about time to head into the office ;)
Everyone have a good day, stay safe, warm, cool, dry, happy... :D

You don't know how confusing it is for me to see someone else mention "Maggie" and realize they are talking about a dog!!!  :o

True story - When Audrey was a toddler, they used to live next door to a couple who had a lab puppy they named Maggie. I was talking to my sister on the phone and evidently they were sitting on the back deck. Mary asked Audrey if she wanted to talk to Maggie, and I could hear Audrey start yelling, "Maggie" and my sister started giggling. Audrey had wandered over to the fence and was yelling for the dog - not me!!!

Good morning all. I've got my little electric heater on this morning to take the chill off, but expect it to warm up soon outside...at least that is what it has been doing.

I'm expecting company today in the RV park (CArolinagal), so need to get cracking at cleaning the clutter I have accumulated in my dinette area this morning. Those unused seats tend to become a catch-all when I'm alone.

I spent yesterday dealing with the IRS. I got a letter telling me I might owe another $1600 in taxes & interest on my 2010 return...yikes! It was concerning an IRA distribution. Well it was a ROTH IRA that i closed out of my old credit union, and I shouldn't owe any taxes on it. But, I didn't have any documentation to prove that in my RV. So I was able to call the CU office in Tampa and got them to make a PDF copy of the 1099-R showing no taxable amount and send it attached to an E-mail. Sent that off with the form from the IRS along with a note. I hope that takes care of it.

Hope everyone has something fun planned for today....I will as soon as I get things straightened up here.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Liz, I hate it when you have to "prove" something and the proof lies elsewhere! You were lucky and smart to get what you needed and in a timely manner! Doesn't it just boggle your mind that the IRS goes after people in our income bracket and those millionaires go waltzing calmly through life!!! Let's hope that will be the end of your worries, for now, at least. Say HI to Carol for me when she arrives, and I hope you two have a great time together waiting for the FL GTG!

Donna glad to hear you are feeling a tad better and that you might have some company for the holidays! I can't wait to meet you!

Carolb, as far as I know, Dinah has had only one seizure that I actually saw. About 5 months prior to the one I observed, I found her in her in her overnight hut all disoriented, unable to walk, confused----much like she was when I saw her right after her seizure. At first I had thought she had been bitten by a poisonous insect or spider, or something like that. Within a few minutes, she was as normal as usual, in both instances-----although it scared the pooty out of me!

I wondered about the phenobarbitol prescription, although he has put her on the lowest dose for her weight. How he made the diagnosis of epilepsy with just one observed seizure is beyond me. I need to do some more reading on the subject, and how to gradually withdraw her from the meds, if I think I should. Seizures really scare me, however, so I will do anything to prevent them from happening.

Irmi I am happy to hear that your insurance company is coming through for you and Steve----it's been such a long haul for you with flooding and damage twice in a short period of time. Can't wait to see you at the FL GTG!

So Sandersmr is really Maggie, eh? I hope I remember that for the next time I wrack my brain for a reall name! Nice to meet you in non-fake-name terms!

Got my screened porch Dinah-proofed yesterday by getting more hardware cloth, some new screws with philips slots instead of those old square-slotted things, and it came out very nice----one can hardly see the barrier that keeps Dinah from poking her nose through the screens at her head level and slipping out into the wilds of Orlando. I used the old drilled holes so didn't need to make any new ones. It's such a relief to be able to keep my double-doors open to the outside once again. I even found a great indoor TV antenna made by RCA to let me set up my smaller Panasonic TV out there and get a large number of free over-the-air stations. Sleeping out there is so nice.

Now just awaiting my hometown veterinarian to fax a new prescription for Dinah's phenobarbitol to this Publix pharmacy. I had to call him again and remind him I have only about two days left of this prescription.

Hope you all have a happy Wednesday!

Good morning everyone. Carroll's confused with all the Maggies :P Insurance helps Irmi with hurricane damage :P Dawn having problems with Direct TV acct and Paul lost his keys  More antennas for Dawn's rig....will look like an alien space ship :P Catherine, what fun to spend with your sisters. We used to go camping or meet up at a resort to have space and let the kids play. You'll love it. Donna getting over the flu and washing rig :P Maggie confused with the 4legged friends also named Maggie  Glad they don't name dogs Chris  Liz having a mini gtg with Carol. We want to see pix, please.

It is a bit cooler here today. Hi 72, low 50. Best weather. Like San Diego. It is suppose to get warmer for the weekend. In 2009 they had 2" snow on this day  Tyler visit to the vet was ok. He is now taking low dose pain meds for arthritis and she gave him some probiotics for his recurring diarrhea.

My med check ups continue. Stitches finally dissolved. :P UTI still bothersome  Neuro doc wants me to wear a bicycle helmet :P Anyway, severe stenosis in the neck and lower back. Future bumps on the head would not be good. No more sky diving, motorcycles, bungy jumping, roller coasters, skiing. Just shoot me now

Trying to get the Xmas decorations out and up. Just not too motivated. Still haven't decided what we'll do for Christmas. Everyone have a fun day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Dawn, it's always something. The last time I changed the front tires on my motorhome I wanted the local tire place to put metal valve stems but they didn't have any. Then they put the kind of extensions that don't need caps which I know shouldn't be used. Now they have trash in them and if I try to check the air they get stuck and let air out. Now I have to go 40 miles and find a tire place to fix their mess.

I could just scream when I have to get on the phone with Direct TV. The problem we have now is that one of the bedroom TV's doesn't get local channels. After spending over an hour with a couple of techs they told me my TV needed to be updated. How do you up date a TV besides buying a new one. After changing receivers and TV's around several times it is not the TV or the receiver so it must be the line or the dish. I just haven't had the courage to get into it with them again. I know I will have to go through the whole routine again before they will admit it's not the TV.

Liz, good luck with the IRS. We have trouble getting them to even listen to us. They wouldn't even talk to our CPA when he made a trip to the local office. I know it took over 6 months for them to decide he was right and they were wrong. Of course we had to pay the CPA for all this not them.

It rained all day yesterday and we got almost 5 inches so it's nice and muddy. It's gray and overcast today. I think all the rain has passed us, hope so.

Good morning gals! Got up early to take the dog out then back to bed. I have been down in the dumps lately, and this morning I figured out that it is because of my financial situation. I am now really cutting things close with the added car payments. That makes me so nervous and stressed out. No wiggle room for unexpected expenses/emergencies. Don't like that feeling at all. Had to cancel my health insurance at work since I couldn't afford the extra $300 per month for that. Will look into something cheaper after Christmas. Being without insurance also makes me nervous. :(

The colder weather isn't helping either. I hate it. I sure miss California but I need to be here for my dad now, so will quit whining now :( .

So I am having a tough time getting going today. I have to go to work at 3, tho. Need to make sure I eat lunch before I go. Haven't been eating much either lately, and I know I need to keep that up, but just am not feeling very hungry.

Luckily, Christmas will be short and simple this year. No gifts, just food and family.

I gave Shama a bath yesterday and she looks so much better and fluffy soft now! Took her to my brother's last night for a visit. He has an old golden retriever named Dixie who came on to Shama quite aggressively at first so she was pretty intimidated and nervous. I hope she has a better experience with my other brother's two poodles.

Hope you all have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
