Martha, thank you as I did not know polyps ran in families. You may have changed my mind. I had already been searching for a doctor who accepts Humana. My late DH was diagnosed with colon cancer just a few months after having a colonoscopy so what was the point? He had Crohn's disease so had regular colonoscopies. They did say later that it 'might' have started on his appendix. Anyway, my personal preference is to not go through extensive cancer treatment, but a polyp could be removed.
And peace of mind is a wonderful thing. I finally had my first one this year - very clean and come back in 10 years (not 5).
