Bet a guy could have done it way more quickly than you did...(aw, you know I'm kidding, right?)

Actually, I think it depends on the guy!! When I woke up in Alaska one morning, I was informed the camper batteries were dead, but someone had figured it all out. Take the batteries out of the truck, do this, do that. I said, 'Well, won't the camper batteries charge with the truck engine running?' Nice to be smarter than engineer sometimes :)

Can't get back for the other quote - but love the, 'First you have to die' - I have used a similar version!

Our weather is something else. December 2nd and it's 80 degrees. I'm back in shorts and the air conditioner is on. Yesterday I was in Dillards and a lady said she wished we would have some cold weather. I said not me, I want to wear summer clothes all year. I was in Lafayette Friday and said I was not going back but I did. My friend and I were there all day yesterday. I didn't get home until 9:00. I haven't bought a Christmas present yet but I got a shirt and a pair of shoes. Kohl's had their memory foam toppers on sale for 50% off and I had a 25% coupon so got a good deal on a 3" topper for the sofa in my motorhome. I didn't think I could take another week on that sofa. It kills my hips.

Red, I know how your DH feels, he doesn't want an audience. One of the only fusses my DH and I had was over me backing the cattle trailer. When people would come to buy cows he would want to talk to the people and want me to back the trailer to to chute to load them. After about 10 tries one time I got out and slammed the truck door and told him that he only wanted me to do that when I had an audience. I never had to do that again.

Liz, I think cane syrup must be an acquired taste and not one I have acquired. The Stein's syrup is made in Abbeville, the one that is sold in the yellow can. Some people love it but not me. Looking forward to your pictures of the homestead. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas is a good time to tour a lot of places because they are decorated for Christmas.

Pat, I love beans cooked with ham hocks but I can't find good ham hocks anymore. Walmart and another store sell them frozen but they always taste old. I never though about making home made hamburger buns. I will have to get my bread machine out and try to make some.

I like to watch the shows about the Maya's, Nostradamus and Finding Bigfoot. I tried to read some of Nostradamus' writings one time. I think it takes a good imagination to make anything out of them. I have watched the shows about Egypt many times. That is the only country I would have liked to tour but not the way the world is now.

The sheriff called and said he was bring someone by that knew my DH 50 years ago. I have to clean the living room since I have been on the road shopping all week.
