I did a little spreadsheet (because I'm anal) that tells the cost (in gas only) per 100 miles when towing my little trailer.

For instance, at 10 MPG and $3.50/gal gas, the cost per 100 miles is $35.00.
6 MPG and $3.50 = $58.00 per 100 miles.

Good rough estimate of gas costs for a particular trip.

Me again  Can yew believe this--delivery people called to say they'll be here between 4-7pm with my mattress! So I'm way too embarassed to tell them that's my bedtime--I'll be asleep if they don't get here til closer to 7, so I'm prayiing for closer to 4!!!...S-e, yew are a good "colliemom" to take care of Tessa & forego yore trip! Maggie, hope yore feeling better...& all the people's crossing paths on the road with the mini-GTGs! Can't wait to be part of that. Big WOW, J-dy B, so many miles travelled!!! Impressive, yet I agree that taking time to stay in one place longer is probably the way to go, especially cost-wise. Mitch, thanks for the estimated costs! I think my HB gets 15-18 mpg, bt need to do a better check on that...Well, thanks to y'all for helping me pass some time in the middle of the afternoon...3:30 now...come on mattress!!! Y'all have a great evening & will see ya in the a.m.! 8-) Oh yeah, 12/12/12--not many generations get to see that!!! AND RABBITS in the morning!!! ;)

I've had a lousy 3 days and almost ready to tear my hair out. Found out 2 days ago my checking acct has been compromised and I've been dealing with the bank on that. After 4 different agents they finally figured out that I'm "someone" and I have my very own agent to handle this. She's doing a great job, has the new acct in place and is watching for my deposits and any bills that come in until everyone has been notified about the new acct number. Since I do about 99% of my banking and bill paying online there are a lot of companies that have to be notified. sigh. Then I found out while going thru my mail that my gd missed an insurance bill for the Harley. The original bill was for 358 bucks for the year. Now they want 614 bucks for the new policy. Needless to say, I'm shopping.

Still not completely moved out of the rv and into the house, but enough that I've been sleeping and cooking in here. Slow and sure and by the time the rv is emptied and cleaned it'll be time to start schlepping stuff back out there for the New Years Dune trip. It's a never ending cycle.

We have the bottom of a NW storm system here, chilly, cloudy and at times wet. The weather person said there are 3 more systems stacked up so looks like the end of our pretty weather for a while. Hope it clears up for New Years. Had such a great time over Thanksgiving, mid 80's every day with enough of a breeze to keep us cool in the shade or rv. Rode every day, probably a first for there. We usually have at least one day of cruddy weather, but not this time.

Since I really don't have any cheerful news today I'll sign off and hopefully haven't depressed anyone!

  Oh, and the worst part of the day? I THOUGHT I put out pork chops to thaw to put in my handy dandy smoker and made some of that awesome sweet potato potato (no, I'm not stuttering!) salad to go with them...and then when I got ready to start the smoking process found out it was a steak, not chops. Boy, was I PO'd!! So had steak and S. potato salad. Tonite....smoked ribs and S. potato salad.

Did you smoke the steak? And I bet it was good. But I realize your mouth was watering for the pork.

Can we try something on the smoker in Q? I need to make a decision on buying one. And I'll probably have to break down and pay to start by you in the long term section. You do know how cheap I am. But what I'll do to spend time with friends.

Of course we can smoke something! In the smoker, that is...just tell me what you want. We can do several things if you want, doubt if it'll go to waste. No, I didn't smoke the steak, I only like it MR and was afraid I would get it to well done in the smoker, but I did put some of the chips in a small smoker I have for the BBQ and got some of the flavor that way.

You're really gonna let go of 40 bucks just to camp with me?? I'm honored!! I know money is tight for you now since you're working for site only. Jenny's out at the free area with her Boomer group. That might be an option.
