Wednesday - We're on the Road Again

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday - We're on the Road Again

Postby asirimarco » Wed Oct 24, 2012 6:16 am

Good Morning to All - Not much around here to eat - just some get going coffee. It is still dark out and will be for another hour or so. We just have a few bags of stuff to put in Jennie. Think we'll go up the road a piece and have a good breakfast then it will be about time to go.
Wonder what I'll forget to take this year? You'd think after almost 40 years of doing this I'd have it down pat. But that's part of what makes it fun. And interesting.
Sure hope that storm they are talking about doesn't end up going up the East Coast - sounds like it could be bad. And hope we make it south before the very cold front moves in. Bill has his long johns, beanie and gloves handy just in case. First part of trip will just be travel - been that way a lot - or maybe not....who knows.
Will update my blog this evening when we settle in somewhere.
Have a good day traveling or staying in one place.

Hope you have a good travel day today, Carol and Bill, and hope the weather stays good.

It's a travel day for me too, and I will tow my car for the second time. Only going about 35 miles to Ocala where I will spend the weekend at Silver River State Park. Hope I remember everything.

I have been "nesting" here at my site, so have lots of things to pick up and stow before I go. Better get to it.

Good morning Liz, Carol and all that follow. Very bad night for sleeping. Fisrt DH snoring, moved to couch, stupid clock with loud tic tock, move clock. Then bug zapper high pitch chirp chirp. Unplug it. Then hip is aching no matter what position. Take sleep aid. About 1 hr sleep and Tyler wants out, then wants to be fed, then lays next to me to lick and clean like a cat, but mot quiet like a cat. By the time he is finished and goes back to sleep, I'm awake! I probably should have given up and just worked on a project and get something constructive accomplished instead of tossing and turning. I will be tired and grouchy all day. Definitely will need caffeine to make it through the day.

I have a Dr appt this AM. Then DH and I are going to furniture store. One of the negatives for buying the cream puff before seeing is the furniture. The Montana that I looked at here in Houston had different recliners that were larger. So we thought the ones in the pictures of our cream puff would be similar in size. The two brown leather recliners look so nice and they looked big. However, I am 5' 8" and the recliners are way too small for me. When DH sits in one it looks like he is sitting in a toddler sized chair. And the couch is rather small for DH as well. so there is nothing big enough in the rig on which DH can relax, except the bed. the mattress is a whole nother story!!! We have 2 king size recliners in the living room od Stick and brick. Perfect for him. However, they are too big for the rig if we want to be able to close the slides. So we will be shopping for a recliner that is bigger and yet fits the space. I really hope we can find one, or this baby is gonna sit on the driveway and not see the road very much

Wishing everyone a joyous day and stay safe if you are on the road.

Those chairs looked good size to me in the picture. But when reclined the foot support is under my knees with my feet just hanging over. We didn't even try to sit in them till we had taken delivery and set up our first night at a camp ground. Our bad. But the price we got on the rig is still worth getting a new recliner for DH

Good morning
Just a quick check in. Things are quite here in north AL; we have not been in need of bail money. Tina and I did meet Wendy in Guntersville yesterday and did some exploring over there.

Think Tina got more pixs and will post on her blog one of these days.
We are having our rigs washed and waxed later this morning.
Safe travels to all.

Safe Travels Carol...your adventures always inspires the rest of us. Red, at least you have enough room there to replace the two recliners with at least on large one! Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I know that several are on the road or planning to get out there soon but we promised not to alert the local police (...just on certain individuals planning a GTG....)
Sarah and I are hopefully getting our rigs washed and hand waxed to day.....just another good reason to come to Huntsville! :)

Enjoy your morning caffeine and lets get on with the day.....I think I have two dogs that want their morning walk......

I hope you didn't forget too much Carol, have a safe trip and enjoy. Red, hope you find just the right furniture that fits. Furniture shopping is a real pain for me because I have to try to find something that has been on the showroom floor long enough to out gas all the stuff they treat it with and that is a problem. I have found beds and furniture made by a place that uses all non-toxic non smelly products but of course it is costly!
Wish I were in Huntsville with you all, but have appointments Friday and OMG dentist appt at 11:00 this morning, I almost forgot!!

We had a dog behavior person come to evaluate our doggie situation. She said we were doing a lot of things right but Toby was still uncertain of his position. She felt since Andy doesn't seem to care and he and Winnie seem to have worked things out, to let Toby be the alpha dog. He should be fed first and the way I'm feeding by having him eat in his crate is a good idea. She showed me ways to let him know I am in charge and how to stop the barking at the door with all of them! Someone unexpectedly rang our doorbell yesterday and he remembered his lesson and stopped barking when I told him! I was so proud of him. This morning he sat on the steps with me and my neighbor and let her pet him after awhile and a few treats. He sits on my lap patiently while I have coffee at an outside table in the afternoons at my favorite coffee place. He does get upset while I leave him in the car to go in a get the coffee but it is only for a short time so hoping he will get the idea I come back. I tell people for now to ignore him and not try to pet him as he is in training. He loves the foam from the coffee and they make a special cup for him! Oh and the biggie, we can leave him loose in the house with the others while we go out and he has been very good. What a relief!!

Off to get ready for the dentist :(

Safe travels today Carol, Bill and Liz. Red, there will be recliners out there for both of you. May take some looking.

I need to look for a groomer in Burnet or Marble Falls. All the dogs really need to be groomed. They are way past their normal schedule. They are looking pretty raggedy. Paul needs to go to Marble Falls today to pick up the freezer he ordered for his rig at Walmart. While we are there, I think would be great to go to Bluebonnet Cafe. Need to pick up some groceries too. Will wait till just before we leave here to get the groceries for the GTG. Need fresh seafood and other items for other meals. Will work on my menu this week for GTG.

Better get off here and get in shower so can get ready for the day. Moving really slow today. Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

I would like to be in Huntsville too but can't do 2 trips in a month. My motorhome could really use a wash and wax. I need to try to get some more bugs off the satellite dome before I head for Texas. That involves a ladder and I try to stay off ladders. My son will be here Friday so maybe he can help me.

I hate to shop for recliners. My DH does not want his feet to hang off the foot rest at all so that means a giant chair. He spends so much time in one that he usually breaks the back so they don't last too long.

Yesterday I got my hair cut and flu shot. I still have a few thing to pick up for the GTG but am going to try to stay home today. I have the ingredients for the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Billionaire Bars. They look kind of complicated so don't know how they will turn out.

GOOD AFTERNOON ALL!

Carol and Bill hope you have a safe and fun trip, and I can't wai to see more of Mexico with you two this year!

Liz is off to a beautiful FL State Park----looking forward to pics from there, too!

Red has a very busy day cut out for her---I wish you luck with all your endeavors!

Tina, Wendy, and Sarah are getting warmed up for some winter travels in their rigs! I can't wait to meet up with you all again in the sunny, warm south!

BJ is having success with her newest family member! It sounds as if things will work out very nicely for you all!

Dawn I hope a nice hot shower will invigorate your body for the day so you can enjoy your travels. How is your mom doing?

Orion and I are sitting in the house by the warm wood fire as it's very raw and cold out there. If the sun would stay out for a bit, we could go for a walk.

I am hoping that soon-to-be Hurricane Sandy stays away from the east coast so that my travels next week will be safe and comfortable. If it looks as if she is coming, we will just sit tight until she passes.

Happy Wednesday to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
