Friday, TG

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday, TG

Postby carolb » Fri Oct 19, 2012 6:55 am

Good morning all! I've been reading past MC posts, since I've been absent for a few days. More scares & more happy dancing...Hope everyone is waking to a great start to the weekend. I'm still in IL parked in my sis's yard, mid-way between her home & her horse barn, so I feel I have plenty of privacy, yet feel safe. She has 5 acres in the middle of miles & miles of cornfields, now plowed, so there is that "fish bowl" feeling, even tho there's no one for miles to look into the bowl. Oops, Sis is texting that she's awake, so will go in for more coffee. Hope y'all have a happy day, have the faith to roll with the p-nches (they come from all angles, eh?) & know that there's a GOOD plan for y'all! :D

Good morning all from a cold and wet central Indiana. Not going to do much today - too icky out. Sounds good to me, A day to read or maybe start on my "clean house before we leave" stuff. Got almost everything ready in Jennie - Bill has been busy out there building book shelves, decorating and straightening up storage places like under the dinnette seats - built a platform carpeted it and partitioned it so now it hold stuff without rattles. I made some new covers for the chairs. And he put his new South America map on the outside. Will post some pics on the blog later today.
Meds seem to be keeping shingles under control - thank goodness.
Getting a later start this year and discovering some of the campgrounds we usually stay in here in the midwest will be closing Oct 31....better keep that in mind when we head out.
Everyone have safe travels and a good day.

Wet & chilly here too this morning. I had to go to St Louis yesterday for a 3:30 appointment, made for a long day and it was 8:30 before I got home. Since I don't drive in the city that often I opted to sit out rush hour at a cozy pub but then I ended up driving home in the dark and hoping the deer were sleeping! It was a beautiful drive up, the leaves still have lots of color in many places. I LOVE my GPS, it has expanded my ability to travel so much!!! I zipped around like someone who could actually read a map or knew where they were going  I have to go back again next week but think I'll take Elsie and stay over to visit a friend.
Carolb hope you are enjoying your visit with your sister, those cornfields would be a bit much for me! Carol, hope your shingles go away quickly and that you and the Driver can get underway before it gets much colder.
Have safe travels all on the road and everyone enjoy the day.

Coffee is brewing here. Annoying car repairs today -- but Irish music this weekend! :D

Wishing a grand day for everyone, wherever you are.

Good Morning to both Carols and anybody who follows,

I too have been off of Morning Coffee these last few days and am behind as usual. Like Carolb, all I can say is the same thing, a few scares and a few happy dances. I know once the weather gets colder and winter sets in, I will be on more. This time of year, seems I just want to get up and get moving although thses past few days i haven't been moving much in terms of physcial work as just having other personal things to take care. this is the time of year to get with the dentist, the yearly physical, the chiropractor, the butcher, the baker, the financial advisor and..... Everybody gets a piece of the pie :) Plus mom nature has been giving us a bit of soggy weather of late too, so not really work out in the yard stuff. Just had one day, Wednesday, that was really nice and I did get my leaves out front cleaned up. More back on now, but not too bad. One more pass with blower will take care of that. And like Liz, new hearing aids are going to be in my future too down the line here as mine are wearing out.

Carolinangel, I hear you about not wanting to do the work anymore and getting one's back out of wack. Same goes for here. I've been having a problem with two discs in my neck and left shoulder area slipping out and pinching nerves. Ouch is all I can say. So yesterday went back to chiropractor again for another adjustment (was scheduled) and didn't do much of anything rest of day except rest it. So far this morning, I am feeling prety good but have two appts next week again. Rain on forecast today again too. I do have my bed changed and a load of wash going, so that's done this morning. Not much else planned for today.

Sounds like those who are heading south are already in or near their destinations and a few others making plans to hit the road shortly. Safe travels to those of you still on the road and also to those just starting out. Ava, congrats on the new grandbaby.

Happy to report that Tessa is doing fine on this end, almost all her levels are back to normal except one that's still elevated just a tad, but improving every time we get the test done. She's on a reduced antibiotic now and is pretty much her old self. Not eating as much as I would like, but she's never been a gobble down food in one setting dog anyway and they aren't as active right now either. Sassy's tests turned out fine, so no worry about liver enzymes now.

Well, time to get rolling along here. Should get dressed. Kind of toying aruond heading over to farm market about 50 miles from here for apples an cider regardless of weather. Most heavy rain is to stay south anyway. Dogs are antsy, they want to do something. We shall see. Have a nice day everyone :)

good morning ladies
a lovely morning, cool out but not too cool. Have lots to do today as my week has gone by so fast and before I know it, it will be Monday
and back to work. Major cleaning day in my room, including my desk and as stuff has been piling up all week on that and when I'm gone
Gracie walks all over it and knocks stuff down. She's so naughty
I'm also tempted to call my hair lady and see if she can cut my hair today, if not today, maybe tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning all, got up to a very cool 44 degrees here in south central TX! I knew a cold front was coming, but hey I expected it to be 60 degrees!

Need to go to town and get my car tag. Forgot the papers yesterday and it is a long drive. Will visit with my bro and SIL and do some birding. Then I try to drive in the daylight because of those darling Dang Deer. BJ, I rather face the traffic than the deer. There are some on the road every morning. I wonder how there are so many left with so many hit victims.

If you are on the road be safe. If you are home or stopped, have a fun day.

TGI Friday y'all. Even though I am retired, Friday still feels special. It is still the beginning of the weekend when special events take place. Fridays, new movies are released and I like to go to the senior matinee  This AM I left the house at 8am to head to the tax office to get the registration and plates for the 5er. It was 48 outside. Haven't had the heater or defrosters on in the car since last winter :P Ate breakfast at Micky D's and a Starbucks coffee :P DH hired some day laborers to help modify the gate to the driveway so we can get the 5er in and out without asking the neighbor to do it for us  Also need to remove a basketball hoop that is permanent steel column filled with cement. Also a lot of weeding and yard cleanup going on!! Then we should have a nice spot for her. I keep wanting to call her Mona, but DH says every time he hears that name it reminds him of one of our H.S. classmates - not pretty memory he says. I just want to find something to call her other than "it" or trailer.

I'm running away from home for the day to run errands and shop. Everyone have a fun and safe day. Aloha

Morning all! It was pretty chilly here this morning too. When I woke up, weather guy was saying about 48 here. It's up to 64 now and going to be in the 80's. Going to be reorganizing MH starting today for trip south next Tuesday. Have been hurting really bad for the last few days so have not gotten rid of all those extra blankets, sheets and pillows yet. Will get started on that today. These big swings in temperatures make the MS symptoms much worse. Have been just taking ibuprofen and tylenol to manage the pain. Just takes the edge off. Since I haven't had any health insurance since I quit my job, have not been on any of my meds for quite a while now. Even on the meds, had lots of painful days just like now so don't know that all that expensive medication made that much difference.

Mom is not feeling well today. We were going to go into town and take care of some of her banking business, but no way she is up to it. Told her it was OK if she didn't feel like getting out of her PJ's today. She slept from 9:30 last night to 10:30 this morning. We can go on Monday to take care of her business. That will give me all weekend to do some minor fixes to rig. One of the bathroom doors is not closing anymore, so I think I will put some silicone on the part that goes into the door frame to make it catch better. Also have a couple of screws that have worked their way loose on overhead storage. Will get them fixed. Going to put a small spice holder on wall too. Once I have my bedroom storage emptied, am going to put my breadmaker, George Foreman, Food Saver and cleaning supplies under the bed. That is going to empty some of the outside bins. Will be moving my machines around to equalize the weight on both sides. Figure this will take me most of the weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD AFTERNOON ALL!

Heavy rain and cool temps here today----just plain dreary and nasty feeling out there! Dogs are inside the trailer instead of tied outside as they were yesterday whie I am up here watching Orion. It began the pouring in the middle of the night. This house has satellite internet, and, when the skies are so full of down-pouring water, the service is barely to nil.

Hope that Barbzee is nearly to her winter destination today, and that others who are on the roads are having a better driving day than this would be for me.

I need to pay some bills and had to download a new driver for my printer to my new laptop in the trailer---got it ok, but then lost internet connection due to rain, so will have to finish paying my Adirondack electric bill later when I get back to trailer. My friend, Kathy, and I have been trying to call each other via Skype but this horrible internet reception has made that impossible for today, also.

So, guess I will go back to the trailer now until Orion wakes up from his nap. Perhaps I, too, will take a nap as I do have his head cold (please do not let this go into my chest!) and feel not so good today.

Happy Friday to all!

Good Morning from Cottonwood, Arizona!

So many things going on in everyone's lives!

Another beautiful day here!

We had men come wash and wax the truck and camper yesterday - one less chore! I no longer feel guilty about paying for things I could do myself except this time it was LeRoy's treat :)

Sunday we will go to Salome, get L's truck from storage and come back up here Monday to get my 5er out of storage. I'm anxious to get set up in Salome so I can begin the process of 'downsizing' and getting the 5er on the market ASAP.

If anyone is interested in Alaska expenses. We have figured our final totals for the summer travels to Alaska and back. We only included diesel, camping, admissions and propane - no groceries, meals out, vehicle maintenance, repairs etc. Each of us stayed under $6000. One must remember that we did a lot of boondocking so camping expenses were under $300. Admissions included the $1800 (each) tour to Prudhoe Bay, the $600 (each) ferry from Skagway to Prince Rupert. 16,465 miles.

Coffee is gone....time for breakfast. Enjoy your day and safe travels.

It was a pretty day but windy and hazy by mid afternoon as the tail of Oklahoma's dust storm blew thru the area.

Maybe they need to move the DEER crossing signs to quieter streets!

Soos, take the Zicam! It really works!

Red, How about naming your rig "Aloha" or something else Hawaiian?

Dawn, I hope your mom feels better, and you too!

Nothing new here (other than I am 12 hours late on here!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
