Fun Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Fun Friday

Postby Redwahine » Fri Sep 07, 2012 8:48 am

TGIF everyone. I can't believe I'm the first one up this morning. Now that I'm retired, Friday doesn't have the same meaning. Pretty much we stay home on the weekends and let the crowds descend on the malls, stores, and traffic. I tend to do all my shopping and errands during the normal working hours. Except for the weekend gun shows, RV shows, concerts, etc.

Weather is suppose to cool off this weekend, but we are in 3 digits today :x

Neuro Dr said I have a concussion and whiplash. More MRI/ MRAs next week. So, I'm staying down and resting. Made eggs-in-a- basket and my favorite coffee flavor, mocha coconut  DH is off car shopping. He's looking at SUVs and trucks. Who knows what he'll decide on!!

Have a wonderful day and stay safe 8-) Aloha

GOOD MORNING RED AND ALL!

Keep us posted about your tests and all that are coming up. You must have really had a bang-up whack to your head and body. Whatever you do, stay quiet and rest a lot between now and the tests. No more jostling of your brain!

Red squirrels are making their screeching chirruping chattering noises out here in the old apple tree as they fight over the apples, I guess. Dinah and Molly are beside themselves as they try to reach them! I managed to trim out a few old dead branches yesterday, and will haul them to the fire pile today. Now that maple tree, rather large for my tiny electric chainsaw, still needs to get sawed down and moved away from the poor old tree to allow it to produce apples for more years.

The sun is out and it's 61 degrees out there already. I still have my swimming pool filled, and if it gets into the low 80s as predicted today, I may take my last 'swim' in there before I begin to empty it for the winter. That size pool has been wonderful for both me and Orion this summer....much easier to take care of than the older larger one that the mice got into and ate holes in last winter outside in the shelter. I will make sure this one gets crated in a plastic bin this year and stored in my cellar.

I have yet to see the tractor and brush hog appear here in my yard as I have asked Wiley to do for me so I can mow that field I am trying to keep free of poplars and other weed trees. I missed the mowing last year, and, if I go for the surgery I should have this year, I will probably not be able to mow for a bit after that either. Of course, if I don't have the surgery and go for another year of difficulties, I will be able to mow whenever.

Richard leaves for Lake Placid today to attend the wedding of the great granddaughter of W. Alton Jones, a very wealthy now-dead resident and benefactor of the Cell Science Research Center of the town. He and the girl's mother have known each other since elementary school back in Virginia, and she married a guy from this area and settled here. It's been a hoot to watch Richard resurrect his only suit, shirt, and tie from the zipped bags they have been in since his mother's funeral a long time ago! He got online last night to get instructions on how to tie his tie, and ended up with what looked like a scarf around his neck! I have never tied a man's tie, so was of no help whatsoever! He found his only pair of shiny black shoes, black socks still in them, while he was back at his house, so he should be good to go at this very posh affair. He was a nervous wreck yesterday preparing for this occassion! I found some wrapping paper and a box for him to put his present in, a beautiful candle sconce he made from thick, brilliantly shiny copper roofing material----he gave me one, too! They are beautiful. He is very talented with his metals.

Hope you all have a wonderful day wherever you may be and whatever you may be doing.

Happy travels!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

It is morning and the sun is shining, I've had one cup of coffee and all I want to do is go back to bed!! I think I had better get up off my butt and get another cup of coffee! Oh jeeze I slept like a dead thing last night and it sure didn't take me long to go to sleep either. Actually Kelly was up before I was this morning! Now that is a shocking thing, let me tell you!!!  Matter of fact that is what woke me up was that she came in the bedroom to check on me and got Shade all excited. It scared her that I was still sleeping. I know being sick and getting knocked for a loop is probably a no brainer. But I think it's still a shocker! And the best part? I want to go back to bed..... :? ;) It just seemed a perfect night for sleeping.

Gonna slowly do some housework in here this coming week. I can take my time and do a little bit at a time and as slow as I want. But it needs it. I figure as long as I'm the one home on my butt not working that it's work that I can do to keep myself occupied. If I don't keep myself occupied I might get myself in trouble. And I don't need any free time to look for trouble. I don't need to look for trouble at all! Dang stuff can find me often enough all by itself!

OK, gonna go read and see what ya been up to. Have a great day and if you are on the road, keep them eyeballs open. Ya'll be safe too.

Love to all

Echo - blame us for the state of your trailer. We told Kelly she HAD to take care of herself - poor thing was so worried about you and trying to get to see you around working.

My Friday to work - but I sure don't want to. Tomorrow can't come soon enough. Like Red said it's hot hot hot here and we are supposed to get a "cold" front through here tomorrow.
