Pleasant Sunday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Pleasant Sunday Morning

Good Morning all,

Just a quick hi this morning before I get cleaned up and headed off to work. Nothing much in the line up for breakfast this morning. Adkins bar and some milk, followed by a bowl of strawberries. Have eggs and sausage if anybody is interested in that.

Beautiful weather pattern up here these past few days. Pleasant sunshine and temps as well. Rained all day on Thursday, nothing heavy, just a fairly steady light rain. Was good day to curl up with a book but I of course was working. We have been lucky in that we aren't getting the hotter weather that has plagued the middle and lower parts of the state. Will get warm today and tomorrow (mid 80's) but settling down again after that. At the moment this area is probably the only area that is not considered in dry or drought conditions in the whole state. But it's close.

Kathleen, don't over do it. I know you might be feeling better, but please be careful.

Dawn, did I miss something. You have a new rig? Last i heard it was Paul that got one. Hmmm, going to have to do some looking at posts on here when i get a chance.

Ava, it seems funny to hear that school will be starting for you in just a couple of weeks when we are a month away from even thinking about it here. But as you said, it's one year closer to retirement.

Echo, i can feel the excitement building as Tuesday gets closer. Drive safe on that trip. Looking forward to hearing about your new "home" once you get it back to TN.

Gun shows, traveling, destuffing and what not on a lot of people's agenda. Keeping everybody busy, busy.

Well, must be off here, so wishing all of you a wonderful Sunday.

Have coffee and am reading the posts...
I will rest for two or three more days then head to Six Lakes to visit my gf... I love to watch the deer come across their yard... but this year I can't park at the bottom of the small hill as they want me to have electric for air if I need it... they are such good people... it will be a relaxing time...
Echo the days are becoming closer for the trip to TX... I think we are all excited about this happening for you and Kelly... you tell that camera shy daughter we want a picture of her also!!!

Sitting here drinking coffee and waiting on Darla and Mark to come get their trailer load today and bring me empty boxes. After that, going down to Echo's to check on what still needs to be done. Going to take a brush with soap and water to the outside, then going to start hanging the Disco Balls and strobe lights. Wish I had some black lights and fluorescent posters! Just didn't think about it soon enough. Oh well! She's just going to have to make do without those.

Kathleen, glad you are taking it easy. Don't overdo!

Still going to be about 105 today. Yuck! I talked to my friends who are Camp Hosting in OK last night. Told them as soon as we get both MH's packed, we are heading that way. Definitely want 2 sites on the water. I am going to take her 2 tents to hold the sites for us if she doesn't come to TX next week to see her brother. He has cancer and she try's to get back here to see him as often as she can. I figure it won't hurt for us to have a couple tents in the storage in case grandkids want to use those when they are with us in our travels.

Time to get another cup of coffee before they get here. Everyone have a wonderful day. If you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Sitting here drinking my second cup of coffee trying to get my motor running. It's missing and skipping this morning, definitely not a smooth idle this morn. Hope it gets better with more coffee or it will end up being a very long day! Everybody is up here. Well Shade is back in bed after going out to do her business but Kelly is awake and moving. She's grumping big time, she just called the office to see if any cabins need to be cleaned and yep, 2 of them need cleaning. What she is grumping about is that the people in cabin 3 have left and now the people in cabin 5 are gonna move into 3 as soon as she has it cleaned. Don't know what they paid for cabin 5 last night but 5 is bigger than 3 as 5 has 2 double beds and 2 twin beds plus a futon. Good thing people have to bring their own sheets and blankets!!

Need to stop at one of the auto parts stores today to pick up a drain pan and antifreeze so that I can drain my radiator tomorrow morning and I will pick up a quart or 2 of oil for the truck to keep on hand. I already have fluid for the transmission and son topped off the power steering the other day. Brake fluid is good to go. ? Or maybe I should say good to 'stop'! ;) At this point I am just ticking off the minutes to leaving here Tuesday morning. YAY!!!

OK, out of here, gonna go read to see what all you've been up to. Have a great day and stay safe. Those that aren't feeling up to snuff or ready to run a race please take care of yourselves and go easy!!!

Love to all

Good morning y'all. I've been out in the yard before the heat sets in. It's only 80 right now. Making coffee. Can't decide what I want to eat. Colliemom's eggs and sausage sure sound good (emiticon for YUM). Looking forward to a mini Houston gtg with Sandersmrs today. Have a long list of last minute stuff to get before leaving for Maine & Iowa.

Dawn....remember I have dibs on one of those tents.   Don't forget the remote control too

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

It looks as if the camping season is well under way, and that many are enjoying being out in nature when the heat will allow it. Again, I need to thank my lucky stars that our temps up here in the Adirondack Mountains is as perfect as it could be----lower 40s at night and mid 70s during the days. I have had coffee, made some lunch/breakfast as I always do each morning, polished that off, and now I'm good to go until suppertime.

After I pick the day's latest ripened raspberry crop the dogs and I will finally head to the pond with vacuum cleaner, generator, jugs of water, toilet bucket and cover, two deep cycle batteries to run mini-TV, ice chest, and whatever supplies I might need to spend some fine nights in my favoritest spot on earth. I have been putting this job off so far as the deer flies were so viscious I realized I couldn't have sat outside at all down there, but they seem to be mostly gone now, and I will have a great time being out. I also hope to put my canoe into the pond, and perhaps even the paddleboat, as well. Campfire time it is!

Off I go to first pick the raspberries. Hope you all have a wonderful day wherever you are.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

It was 62 here very early this morning but now it is 82 and more humid :( Excessive heat warnings starting tomorrow through Thursday ACK and yesterday noticed the A/C was making a different sound, at first I thought someone was running a motor or something outside but I don't hear it outside just inside :? This is only the second summer for it so ....I will be calling the repair guy first thing tomorrow to have him take a look. I have no idea what we would do if it goes out, certainly can't stay here but with 3 dogs & doubt a motel would welcome us. Needless to say I didn't rest well last night. I was really shocked when I let Winnie out at four to such a cool breeze. Some one said it was 103 at nine last night in Dallas so guess I should be thankful. Sorry about whining but this is the worst heat and drought we've experience in this area since the thirties. I swear every summer I'll be out of here and thought for sure with having Elsie it would happen, but first DH and then DB had health issues and by then the heat had arrived and so far there hasn't been a three day window where it would be cool enough for me to leave and get some place cooler.
I did have a good walk this morning and visited with a couple of neighbors who were also out early. One walks an older black lab and she thought he was sick and was going to take him to the vet. Well, she was on the phone to a friend and mentioned she had missed taking him on their usual walks. When he heard the word walk he leaped up, ran to where she keeps her walking shoes all excited and prancing around. She took him for his walk and all was well, guess he was depressed.
Last night I went to a late dinner with a friend and they were having Salas dancing in the back room. I peeked in and wow is that an energetic dance, it must be fun though there were lots of smiling faces.
Take care all who are on the road and everyone enjoy the day.

facebook so if ya want to see it, just go look at my page. Lots of cleanup to do and I'm off to the store and a drive around town to see if
there is notible damage or just mess from the trees. Catch ya all later and be safe.

Good morning all.
Echo - safe travels on your way to TX. Seems like you know alot about the mechanics of vehicles - good to have that knowledge.
Hope all have a great day and the beginning to a new week.

I am willing to bet he heard the word "vet", not "walk", that got him into action!

Dogs are creatures of habit - well, most animals are. And they hate to have the things they love not happen. That dog was missing the walks, that's for sure. I think Peaches will put up with most anything from me - including my long days, meaning her long days alone - as long as I don't forget her walks and don't shorten them too much when I do shorten them.
