Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Lovey, Rudy's mom, died of Cushings which I commented to on your post on facebook, Dawn. It was hard to keep her out of Rudy's food too. Rudy, having never gone hungry, stands over his food and looks like he is deciding whether it is good enough to eat. While deciding, Lovey, having gobbled hers down in a couple of seconds, then goes to Rudy's which he will just let her eat if I don't intervene. Of course, there were times I turned my head and she got his too. She became very ill on a Sunday. I knew her time had come but vet's don't answer phones on Sunday so I tried everything to make her comfortable. She was dying of heart failure and the only way she could breathe was being up on her front legs. She wouldn't let me hold her but just a minute or two. It was agony for both of us the entire day. She breathed her last breath late that evening. I do hope you get to keep Luke many more years. The meds work for some better than others no doubt. Lovey lived about a year and half after diagnosis. She gained so much weight over that period of time.

Nancy, Luke had gained 5 pounds from last year's annual to this year's according to the vet. I thought it was just a couple pounds. Then he had gained another pound from Thursday to Saturday. I don't see him eating any more than he ever has, but they all have food here and also up at Mom's. Our vet is open 24 hours, but we will be leaving here soon so I am going to have to take my chances on vets as I need them on the road. I am hoping if he does have Cushings, to be able to keep him going as long as possible. My heart sure goes out to you. There is nothing at makes you feel so helpless as just holding a loved one, person or fur baby, and there is nothing you can do to keep them alive. I know I cannot bear to go through it again this soon.
