MONDAY IN THE ADIRONDACKS

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

MONDAY IN THE ADIRONDACKS

Postby Nasoosie » Mon Jul 02, 2012 7:41 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

We had the first fresh wild blueberry pancakes I made for breakfast yesterday morning, and they were deeeelightful!! I have a couple of leftovers in the ice box and will have those this morning as well. Molly grazed as long as I picked, so happy to have her favorite free food available for the eating again! Dinah tried to figure out what had us so interested and excited, but don't think she appreciates them yet!

Marda, I haven't tried bluebery wine as yet, and don't remember which computer I saved that recipe you sent to me on----will look for it for later and try to get me a good wine-maker's kit again, as my old one was tossed out years ago. It's good to have the filters and other paraphernalia that goes into the making of good, tasty wine. Will look online for a replacement, and perhaps make some wine for the Ruckus this year!

Today is a trip to town to mail bills and go to bank and grocery shop. Then it's to the pond to vacuum leanto and then bring generator back here to pack for the Bluegrass festival a week from today. We will have three of us there, at the least, and maybe more I will discover when I get there. Not sure about WiFi, so might have withdrawal from internet while there....it won't kill me too much!

Stay cool and have a fun day wherever you are! (It's only 64 here this morning, but expected to warm up as the day ages.)
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

It is a glorious 72 degrees this morning!! We had clouds roll in and most everyone got rain around us but none here. Unfortunately some of the places that got rain also had large hail and damaging winds and many people lost power. It was 104-106 again yesterday but supposed to 'only' be in the low 100's for the rest of the WEEK ack!!! As soon as the thermometer reached 92 yesterday when the clouds came, I headed out for my coffee fix. Hadn't been out because of the heat since last Tuesday morning and I was totally stir crazy.

Blueberry pancakes, that sounds so good Soos. I eat blueberries everyday but I buy them and freeze for the year. I put some in a bowl with a tiny bit of water (no sugar) and microwave them, they get thick like jam in no time. I put that on top of my pancakes as a syrup so doesn't mess up my cast iron griddle like it does when I add them to the batter.

I took Charley out to visit his friends working in their gardens early this morning early, he gets so bored with his own yard and me. Andy was waiting patiently for his turn, they don't walk well together so have to take them separate. We have a big fenced in back yard but they want to go out front and inspect for 'trespassers', they seemed to find lots of good smells this morning, must have been a busy night.

Better go water my small lilac plants I'm trying to save. Have given up on pretty much everything else except herbs in pots.

Good morning everyone. Blueberry pancakes! YUM. Will you adopt me? Hahahah. Weather has been cooler here in Houston.Temps kept down by the passing thunder, rain storms. But humidity still high. Leaving for Vegas today. Husband wants to play poker. I'm not much of a gambler so I like the shows and I hope to take a tour over to the Grand Canyon. Have a great day and stay safe and cool.

Red - I did the helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon and loved it! I'm not a gambler either. I also wanted to do the Hoover Dam tour, one of the gals I was with did that one... oh and Red Rocks State Park... and...

I'm in full-blown panic mode. I have until Friday to get my last quiz and the second half of my business plan turned in. I'm going to be scrambling to get everything done, along with laundry and packing! Who thought it was a good idea to leave the day after school lets out? :o :o

good morning ladies,
ahhhh the mention of fresh blueberries makes my mouth water. Gonna have to pick some up at the store, although
they won't be picked fresh but they will still be good.
Little cloudy out right now, hoping for some rain but that will bring the humidity up, I don't care, it will still feel good.
Only thing special planned for today is to start planning a layout for the baby quilt. Went to Johanns fabrics yesterday,
bought some fat quarters and will work on that today. Also picked up a new cutter mat cause my old one got tossed
when I cleaned out the rv. The heat and temp variations over the years in storage made it warp and bubble.
Will pull my portable sewing table out and set up the machine and make sure it all works right. Getting excited to
get started on it. First things first, decide which fabrics I'm gonna use and then get the sizing washed out of the
fabric.
Time for more coffee and then to get started on my day.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe, hoping you have good weather that makes you comfortable.

Ava - a friend of mine does what she calls glamping. She posted a picture of her dinette table with not one but two portable sewing machines and fabric everywhere. Seems she and another friend were in quilt piecing mode.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Boy oh boy did we have a storm last night at about 12:30am or so. Heard thunder even before I left here to pick Kelly up at 11pm from WalMart. Saw some really good flashes of lighting while out. Really didn't think a whole lot about it then as I didn't really think it was gonna rain or if it did it wouldn't about to much. Well it sure did rain. And the thunder scared the the he77 out of Shade. A couple of cracks even spooked the heck out of me too. What really go me was the fact that the dang roof of the TT leaked!!! :x The roof over my bed hasn't leaked in almost 3yrs and plus son resealed the roof too well over a month ago. I just don't understand that the blasted thing leaking like it did. Really, really ticks me off!! I wouldn't have known about it leaking during the night except I woke up and ended up sitting up in bed and felt a light ? sprinkle from the splash of the drop. Got the dishpan and set it under where it use to leak to catch it cause that's where it was leaking again. I'll have to warn the couple that are interested in the trailer and let them have the rest of the sealer. Hopefully they can seal the roof again and that will take care of it. Now I will have to make sure and wash my blankets!!! Grrrrrrr!

Don't have much time this morning as I have to be on the clock by 11am. Need to get dressed and out the door here. I work today then have Tuesday and Wednesday off. YAY!!! My schedule sucks this week. I'm doing dishes 3 times and only working the line 2 times this week. Yep, after all the asking to get away from dishes and not getting out of them I am gonna put my app in at WalMart as soon as I get back from TX. I have had enough.

Hope ya'll have a great day and remember to stay safe. But don't forget to have fun!!!

Love to all

Las Vegas is not my favorite town. I don't like casinos. What got me was the moving sidewalks to get you in one and then try to find a door to get out. I went with a group from work and we took one of the float trips down the Colorado River behind the dam. It was on one of the big rafts that holds about 20 people. It was interesting and very little effort. We only had to watch out to keep from getting our feet wet. We went to see the show with the white tigers. It was a good show but I think I would have rather had my $100. No one has been able to talk me into going back.

My poor little blueberry bushes don't look like they have grown an inch. I really have to water them to keep them from dying. We had so much rain for a while but it is getting dry now. It looks like it will be another hot day, it's already 98 on my porch.

Morning all,

Soos, I agree with Red. Will you adopt me too? I love blueberries and blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins, pretty much anything blueberry!

Echo, so sorry you have a leak now. Going to give Paul your visit timeframe to light a fire under his rear end. He keeps saying he is almost moved out. Looks like it from the stuff he has stacked in Mom's livingroom. I need to get in your TT to get some things done before you get here.

Have not packed a thing since Thursday last week. Need to build a fire under my rear too. Going to put ad in paper to sell Chuck's pontoon boat this week. Bought it for him for Christmas 2009. It was only taken out on lake 4 times because it was right after that that he started to go downhill. I need to climb up on it to get Chuck's tackle boxes and our fishing poles off it before it sells. One of the things I have been avoiding doing because I know it's going to be hard emotionally. I need that money to help get Paul in a MH for him.

Slept late again this morning. The medicine Darla brought me to help me sleep just knocks me out. I think I am going to have to start setting an alarm again. Don't like getting up with half the day already gone. Need to get going and get everything fed and then go check on Mom.

Everyone have a wonderful day. If you are traveling, stay safe.

Well, good afternoon friends! Had my coffee long time ago, don't know what Ive been so busy with all day. Its a LOT cooler here now, which is nice but the catch is now we have rain! About a 30% chance now everyday. Was about to go for a ride and maybe a dog walk and its clouding up again now. So I guess reading is in order. Last night Dawn was on FB and she MADE me go out to DQ. Didnt get a blizzard tho, I got a strawberry sundae! Everyone find some way to have fun today and if moving stay safe. Wendy

Normally I am not a lover of wine, but Marda shared some of her home brew at our GTG and it was delicious! So fruity, which I loved! We'll have to twist her arm and get her recipe.. :D
