Good morning Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good morning Friday

Postby avalen » Fri May 25, 2012 9:32 am

Good morning Friday, and ladies, feels like it should be Saturday
don't have any plans today other than cleaning my room. Getting a little odor from somewhere, will pull the dog beds and blankets
and launder those. Or, it could be me  long hot soaking bath on the agenda too. If I feel up to it I'll take down the old
curtains (cat hairs from Lacey) and hang the new ones. That involves getting out the ladder so only if I feel up to it later,
otherwise it can wait another day. Then of course there are always papers to go through. I try to stay on top of that, still have
ONE tub of very old papers that I've been going through a little at a time making sure nothing has ss # or other pertinent info
before it gets tossed out. So my day will be boring as heck but at least something will get done.
A big thank you to the ladies on the Alaska journey, the card was a wonderful surprise and very uplifting to me :D
Today, my eye is almost closing and I'm so glad of that. Also getting a little rise in the cheek so its coming along slowly
but surely.
Ya'll have a great day and everyone be safe and hoping you have good weather.

Sounds like you are feeling better Ava, hope the healing process continues.
I just heard a funny noise and like a ninny didn't go check it out right away, when I heard it again I realized I better go check. Winnie who is always in search of food was in the pantry/laundry room with the lid off of the jar of White Wizard checking to see if it was tasty. Hope the label is right and that it is indeed non-toxic as I'm not sure how much she sampled. And the drama continues...DH is celebrating his birthday today On The Bonny Bonny Banks of Loch Lomond. It never fails when he leaves things start to happen around here, so far I had the plumber here to unclog the bathtub drain $$$,a process that involved the pipes in the basement. Since I bathe all three dog in that tub I've come to expect it about every three years. Then last night I was going to take his car to town but it wouldn't start. It's a fairly new battery and it tries to turn over, all the dash lights come on so don't think it is the problem. I'm thinking of just acting surprised when he comes home and it won't start
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Anyone who has extra send rain!

Good Morning ladies... Ava it sounds like things are slowly improving... so glad for that...
How funny to have a curious dog... hmmm what else looks good to him!
The wind finally stopped blowing sustained 30 mph with gusts higher... my poor mothers day plant took such a beating... gave it two drinks of water this morning and it may recover...
Today is the dreaded mamo... sure hate those as most of us do... then shopping for food to fix for tomorrow... the guys are putting on a new roof on my grandsons new to him house... that should be an interesting time for all... I will take Shadow so I do not have to come back anytime soon... it is suppose to be in the 90s all weekend.. whew not good for roofing in the sun...
Have a great day what ever you get into...

It is cool and rainy here today in SoCal. People are so strange out here. Yesterday it was cloudy and cool (60ish) and I was sitting outside at the mall at work on my lunch break. I saw a woman walk into a cafe with a long (calf length) heavy quilted winter coat. The next woman who walked in there, was in short shorts and a t-shirt! I just had a light sweater on and felt fine.

Anyways, I work later this afternoon so just relaxing here this morning. We are down to 5 styists at the shop now, so I've been putting in extra hours to cover some shifts. They hired a new gal last week and it turns out she doesn't have a car so had no way to get to work, so they let her go. What is up with some people? The other new stylist who drives 2 hours each way to work, now says she is buying a new car with $300/month payments. She is single and has two kids to support at home. Not sure how that all adds up on minimum wage.

I am rambling on here...

Ava, glad to hear you are slowly making progress with your recovery! Hope the AK group is doing well. Sounds like they are waiting out the snow in MT for a day or so.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

A few days ago I ate boiled crabs at a friends house. She gave me the leftover crabs and I cleaned them but didn't pick out the meat. Today I decided to make a shrimp and crab gumbo for lunch. I still feel like I should eat fish on Friday and I'm not Catholic. Cleaning shrimp and picking crabs are a lot of work but makes a good gumbo. I'm glad I don't have to do that for a living, I would starve.

Kathleen, I have a hanging basket that took a beating from the wind we had a couple of weeks ago. It looks pretty sad. I have some miracle grow around here somewhere. I need to give it a dose. The blueberry bushes I planted don't look like they have grown any. Someone told me not to fertilize them but they sure need something. The yellow squash plants are doing good. If they make a squash for every bloom we are going to have a lot of squash.

BJ, my cats are always getting into things but I don't think they have tried any cleaning products. The other morning I heard the biggest commotion under the big tub. It's one of the kind that sits in a corner and has 2 access panels to get under it. I have the panels blocked off because one house cat got one open and managed to go through the floor to the outside. Our house has bricks all around it to keep varmints from getting under the house. What ever was under it was cutting flips and I didn't know what I was going to do if it was a snake or raccoon. The house cats and I were just standing there wide eyed. I finally heard a meow from under the tub. It was one of the barn cats that had come up through the floor and got stuck in a glue trap I put under the tub. A storm had come through the night before and blew off one of the vent covers in the brickwork.

No plans for the weekend. Everyone have a good Memorial Day weekend.

Kathleen - I will see your mammogram and raise you one colonoscopy. It's over and done and I was told to come back in 10 years!!! But I do my mammos religiously since my sis was diagnosed and this summer will add MRI to the mix. At least I don't have to worry about the other end.
