Sunny Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Friday

Morning all,

Quck note here before I get cleaned up and off to work. Will leave breaksfast stuff here in case anybody wants to fix something. Milk, bacon, eggs, sausage, bread, strawberries and some peaches with whipped cream if you desire.

Looks like a nice mild day shaping up here. Sunny and highs in low 70's possible. Will be a busy day at work cause tomorrow is our annual staff orientation meeting, so need to give our shop a really good cleaning, move out all the new picnic table boards we have been painting and what not. Plus we will also be doing some things out in the park as well.

Things are moving right along in terms of getting ready to launch the season on Memorial Day weekend. A few small areas of leaves left to clean up and our Beach change room building to clean up and get ready. Some small but important stuff yet to do. Yesterday I made another road trip over to Clear Lake State Park where I went with the boss last month for the dump truck. This time it was to take a Bil-Jax back. It's a mobile cherry picker so to speak. Operates under it's own power and enables a person to be lifted up into the trees to trim limbs etc. My boss was using it to do some trimming of dead branches in the park. Somehow I got lucky to land the job of hauling it back  Our one Ranger didn't want to do it as he was doing other things and he said since I tow a trailer, that should be no big deal. Beautiful ride this time of year over and back. 95 miles.

Soos, I'm so glad to see that you made it to Fredericksburg and are enjoying the company at the mini GTG, plus enjoying Irmi's cooking. From what I have ready, I can't wait to meet them someday either. Hope all of you are enjoying some nice weather while there.

Judy is busy packing and getting ready for her up coming move next month and soon her dream will be actually happening. We are planning on a sort of mini GTG when she comes north next month. Will be fun to meet and see the new rig. Hope I can get to see Linda and Maggie when they are both here this summer too.

Well, time to head for the bathroom and some soap and water, brush the teeth, get dressed and out the door. Have a wonderful day all. Enjoy it no matter what happens.

GOOD MORNING FROM FREDERICKSBURG! These are the ORSers! Below see the lot of us, but for me, the photographer!

Image
Here we are, dogs and all!

For more photos, I will leave a link to the website in the GTG room and you can see all we have taken so far, un-touched and non-remedied! I don't have the time to mess with them on Photoshop right now. It's getting warmer, but when I first got up, it was about 43 degrees out here! I turned on my electric heater in the trailer, made coffee, and took the pups for a morning walk after they ate.

It was wonderful to meet Brenda yesterday, and she brought us a wonderful lunch! We had her home-made salad, chicken salad, and a yummy maccaroni salad! I discovered in the course of talking with her that she not only has a photographic memory, but she knows every danged roadstop, Flying J, campground, rest area, gas station----you name it-----on this entire eastern coast, as far as I could tell!

After Brenda left, Shirl provided us with roasted chicken, Irmi made a fantastic potato salad, and I think Shirl made the broccoli to go with it. Then we all sat around the picnic table at Irmi and Steve's and talked until about 11:00 pm! I should say, we laughed, cried a bit, and all in all, were the only ones partying in this entire campground! We didn't have a campfire last night as they don't have any firewood. Today I will go get some for tonight's shindig.

Hope you all have a great day, and there will be more to come later in the GTG room!

Happy travels!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Looks like Soos and the others are having a good time. But then that is what it's all about. If ya ain't having fun why do it? It was chilly here yesterday morning and this morning too. Yesterday morning was at 50f and was suppose to go down into the 40's last night. Have no idea what the temp dipped down to cause I haven't checked but for sure it was quite cool. I know when I took Shade out to P first thing I had shivers and goose bumps all over.

Set my alarm for 8hrs but I woke up about 1/2hr before it went off, I had to P something wicked. Damn that floor was cold  , my feet hit that floor and I sure did have to hurry to the potty! I'm still tired tho and all I want to do is go back to bed. ~sigh~ I've been sitting here going into a half doze off and on for over the past hour. Coffee isn't helping much.

Today is 'Dolly's Home Coming Parade' at 6pm. The town is suppose to be a mad house today so I would imagine that the park is gonna be extra busy too. We have all been warned that when Dolly is in town that she likes to drop into the park for a visit and that she does like Aunt Granny's so not to be surprised if she stops in. It would be neat to see her but I'm not looking forward to being slammed at work. Yesterday got really hectic and I got buried in dishes after a somewhat easy morning. My schedule yesterday was 9-3 but it got so busy that I didn't get a lunch and didn't punch out until almost 3:30. Felt really bad leaving the other guy basically by himself. The third dishwasher I guess called off as we had a guy that the lead 'borrowed' from some place else and didn't really have a clue about how things were done or where the stuff was suppose to be put away at. Asked if they wanted me to stay a little longer to help out but was told no and to go ahead and leave. I have been giving some serious thought of talking to the lead or HR and asking if there is somewhere else or something else I can go or do. I hate to give up but this dish washing job is a killer!!!

OK, off to do a little reading to see what ya'll have been up to. Hope everyone has a great day, has lots of fun and that you do it all safely.

Love to all

Sue, don't work too hard.

Soos, loved your pics. Sounds like everyone is having a wonderful time. Enjoy the fellowship and good food.

Echo, hope you are not slammed today. I do hope they let you do something different.

I may be on the road sooner than I originally thought. I called the man we sold a couple acres to a few years ago for his landscape business. I made him an offer for the rest of the acreage, our house, Mom's house and Paul's TT. He asked if he could have the weekend to think about it before I call a realtor. He said timing was good because he was out of room and was going to have to do something. He, of course, offered his condolences. Said he thought Chuck was going to make it this time again. If he does buy the place, as soon as I get funding, will get the MH and move Mom and me into it. Will have to get used Class C to put my brother in also.

Our friends from Oklahoma came down yesterday too. I walked down to the garage with Mike. We took a look at all the equipment and implements. Mike suggested I call an auctioneer to sell all that stuff. Made sense to me. I have no idea what to price the tractors, tools, etc at. Tomorrow, the girls and I are going to build a toolbox each from Chuck's tools. Chuck has a bunch of tools for us to split. Chuck's friend Ray and Darla's husband, Mark are going to help us. Chuck had told me he wanted me to make sure I had a complete toolbox to take on the road with me. No problem there. Everyone says Chuck had multiples of everything when it came to his tools. He also has 2 generators. Not sure if I need to take a portable generator since MH has a generator. Would appreciate anyone's thoughts on that.

It's rainy here, so going to work on getting all the CD's into iTunes. Too much un-needed weight for MH. Will give them to the girls. Hope everyone has a wonderful day today

Looking like it will be a really nice sunny day and weekend looks good too.

Got to get myself more motivated for packing. Goal is two boxes per night, and only did 1.5 last night. Still more stuff to throw away--can't believe I am such a hoarder.

Dawn, I went to Sears and got one of those zippered canvas toolboxes so stuff won't rattle around so much. At least get plastic, over metal, or line the metal with something. I am leaving my electric drill and drill bits, huge rachet set with rachets, and other such things in storage, but I am taking my small air compressor. Mostly I am taking one hammer, a few screwdrivers, a couple of wrenches, and such--just the basics. I can retrieve the rest or borrow what I need, I think.

Look at how close retirement is getting for me!! Wow! They hired my replacement, and I am training him now.

Was woken up by my cat this morning. Still tired so may go back to sleep for awhile.

Had a good time back in MN seeing friends and family! My dad is slipping a little mentally but he was sure glad to see me. We had a wonderful visit with my daughter and her adoptive parents. She is really growing up quick! She is always so happy and sweet! I will post more about our visit with photos later.

Sounds like an exciting summer coming up with those heading to Alaska and others starting out in their new RV's on new life adventures!

Hope everyone has a great day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
