Stormy Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Stormy Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu May 03, 2012 6:04 am

Good Morning all,

Bit of a wet start to our Thursday here. Some rather heavy weather moving across the central part of the state. Did see some lightening a bit ago, but nothing happening here other than a light rain. Looks to be a wet day later on as well. So will put a crimp in our work at the park today. We got rained out for a while yesterday but then were able to go back out and do some things. Too wet for grounds work though. I need to run down to the conference center where my friend Brenda was staying last week and pick up a headset she lost from one of her bags on the way out. They found it, so I will go get it. She uses it with her hearing aids when she uses her cell phone sometimes. But if the weather is bad, that will have to wait.

I'm so far behind on the forum right now that I don't know what's going on in everybody's lives. And if there are any new people on board, I want to say "Welcome" and I will catch up with your introductions eventually. Hope everybody's hanging in there and things are going okay. I do know that Soos is getting ready to head for her northern home and I wish her safe and enjoyable travels. The same goes for Beth who's heading north to her summer workamping job in AK. Enjjoy the drive Beth, hope the weather is good for you and the trip is enjoyable as well.

As for me, I am heading off to work today and tomorrow and then will be heading into the Upper Peninsula on Saturday for a couple of days as I have a three day weekend. Will be nice to get away. And no, I am not camping. I will be staying at a lodge up there where I take my annual vacation in the fall. Might be a rainy weekend but I don't care. Would be nice if Saturday and Monday would be dry fo the drive, but I will have to contend with whatever comes my way. It's just the get away that counts.

Guess I had better get going here and get dressed for work. My dogs are reluctant to go out this morning, so I will probably have a potty accident when i get home. But there's nothing I can do about it. Like they say, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Have a great day all.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Sitting here swilling coffee and half nodding off. I just did not want to get up and around this morning. Have had 2 days off but need to punch into work by 9am this morn. The past 2 days have been loverly and I spent them with the son. Had to go back up to Johnson City whether I wanted to or not. ;) And right now while I am home my truck is not, it's still up there and the son has the front end tore apart. He's putting on new upper and lower balljoints on both sides and an upper control arm on the right. We have had a terrible time trying to find out which upper control arm we needed and then had a hard time finding one. David took it off and I took it to a Chevy dealer and come to find out the part has been discontinued and it's no longer available. But at least we got the bushing hole measured and found an after market one. We have had to order one and it might get in by Friday but the parts guy at Advance said it probably wont get in until Monday. If by chance it does come in by Friday David will drive it down on Saturday night as he is coming down and going to the park on Sunday. Kelly is all excited that she and David will go "play". Mom has to work Sunday 1pm to close so no play time for Mom!!!

Ran out of propane while I was gone so had to go get a tank yesterday eve when I got home. I was not happy as I had just gotten a tank filled last week and could not figure out why it only lasted a week. Well when I got here and looked at the tanks I could see why. Some how??? The rubber gas line from the trailer to the fitting that goes into the tank had come off so that the gas didn't just leak out, it just went out!!! It's beyond me how the he77 that hose came off! I put it back onto the fitting but it wasn't the easiest thing to do and still needs to get 'pushed' on a tiny bit more. But the worst of the mess is that while my freezer is working the blasted fridge part isn't doing squat to cool anything and I don't get paid again until the 11th and the mobile repair guy costs $85 and hour. If it's not one thing it's another! Story of my life.  :(

OK, 8am here and need to get my butt in gear and finish getting ready for work. Blech!!! Didn't win the lottery so that means no big vacation for me. Hope everyone has a great day and enjoys whatever it is you will be doing. Stay safe.

Love to all

GOOD MORNING SUE, ECHO, AND ALL!

The sun is up, as usual, and the wonderful cooling breeze has already begin from the pond to this trailer, making the heat, which is predicted to get into the 90s today, very tolerable and enjoyable.

Coffee is served----I drink decaffeinated Hazlenut these days----and the morning news is on TV. I am watching a gigundous sink hole opening up near a community in Windermere. The darned thing is 50 feet deep and now over 100 feet wide, and headed directly towards a house! Time to move!

Echo, I sure hope you get your propane fixed, and your truck safely repaired, also. I don't understand how your propane line came undone-----doesn't yours screw on with a little twisty thing?

Sue, I hope your weather clears for your 3-day weekend away at the lodge. Can your pups go with you there? I forget what happened last time you went.

Here are a few pics of where I am this morning---the first leg of my trip home. I hope everyone is having nice weather wherever you may be. I have not much to do but anticipate my trip come Sunday. And let the dogs run and play.

My guardians!

Don't forget the super moon coming up on Saturday night's full moon date----we should have a perfect view here from the trailer. I'll try to get some pictures.
HAPPY THURSDAY!

Happy travels!

Good morning gals! Another cloudy cool day here in SoCal  It has been dreary here for a week or so now. And the forecast for MN is rain, storms, rain, storms, etc...for the whole week I am there! They had a few small tornadoes there the past couple days. I love thunderstorms but not the severe stuff!

I am heading off to the airport later this afternoon, so for now am just relaxing before I finish up packing and head out. No work for a whole week! Yay!

Sounds like a lot of you on here are getting ready for a busy spring/summer of traveling! Hopefully, safe and fun times ahead!

I better get up and get something to eat.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
