Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning

Postby Getupngo » Wed May 02, 2012 11:37 am

Well, travelin' Beth hit our neck of the woods yesterday, and she, Sheila (Snowball) and I went out for a fabulous Mexican dinner. So nice to finally meet Beth ... I feel like a true Forum sistah now. We laughed and had a wonderful time.

Last month I didn't say "Rabbits!" and seems I'm paying for it. Yesterday I found I have a MAJOR leak in my MH. The bane of older rigs. Here's hoping the Escape Capsule dries out and my mechanic -- who sealed the roof two years ago -- will figure it out. I think it might be coming from the $lide, and those repair$ are co$tly.

To work out my frustration, I got the Round-Up out this morning and poisoned the heck out of a bunch of weeds. That I CAN control. LOL.

It was so great to meet Janice and to see Sheila again. I have a pic of the 3 of us on my camera - will get it on the computer later today, hopefully.

I'm staying here in SLC a 2nd night - because I have a ton of things to do - needed to make a bunch of phone calls, going to probably do a load of laundry or two to make it through till Valdez - clean house, will head to Walmart possibly. Discovered that if I use the memo feature on my phone to make lists for the stores - I always have the list with me. Well, as long as the phone is with me. Trying to keep it with me - so much better chance than the lists had. Love it.

Talked last night about going to Janice's to do my laundry and to see her again. As much as I want to get together again - couldn't sleep last night with the lists in my head of all I wanted to do - so called and told her I was going to bow out - pretend I was far away from everyone - and just work. Ha, and now here I am on the forum. But we all need to take breaks.

If I don't get to Walmart today, will stop at one tomorrow - and probably make that my last major shopping also - the rest of the trip to Valdez will be driving, reading, enjoying, sleeping and doing it over the next day. Oh, and walking Peaches.

Well, I've screwed around on the 'pooter and phone all morning and now it's just shy of noon and still haven't accomplished a durn thing. sigh. Maybe it's the weather...still overcast and chilly, but we're supposed to be sunny and up to 75 or so tomorrow. 'Course they said sun by 1 yesterday and I never saw it. Waited until 2, gave up and took a nap.

Found some neat things down in San Diego to take the grand girls to...one of them was a pirate cruise. Sounds like a blast. Definetly taking them on that along with the usual zoo and Sea World.

Beth, glad you had a good visit with Janice and Sheila. I've been wanting to meet Janice for a long time, and one of these days it'll happen. I just need to point Hope's nose north instead of east.

I have a free room for 2 nites at the Tropicana in Laughlin so I called Evie (Pooker) and asked her if she wanted to go. Bingo...she said she had been thinking of going and knowing I had just gotten back from there didn't think I would want to go back. Her birthday is Sat, so this will make a nice birthday trip for her. I want to check out some rv parks there for next year for the Bike run and I need to check the property I have there for weeds. Oh heck, you guys know me, I don't really need a reason to go to Laughlin. We all know it's because I love the pool and spa there!  Anyway, we're leaving Tues, be back Thurs. It was the only time one of us doesn't have a Dr's appt. Sucks getting old!

OK, off to finish cleaning out the rv and all of the fun stuff that needs doing when getting home from a trip. ick. Hope everyone has a great day and travel safe.

GOOD AFTERNOON TO ALL FROM ST. CLOUD!

As I was preparing to spend another day at the pool, I all of a sudden decided to pack up and close up the house for a half a year, and head back here to the trailer to give me more time to pack it and make sure all is well for the trip. It saddened me to leave there, as it is so perfect weather for swimming and bike riding, but.....when the spirit moves me, I have to jump.

There is a nice breeze back here as well, and, although I won't be swimming, the dogs can go free and run their legs off before they have to be on the road for a long haul. This will also give me time to go back there to get all the stuff I am sure I forgot to do or pack!

Beth, that KA sounds like one I would love. Happy you are able to enjoy the walk with Peaches. What are Canada cards? Do they allow you to get in and out of Canada without a visa, or something?

Sharon, I hope to meet you one day, too, if you ever get East, or I ever get out wherever you may be! Maybe next year?? We shall see how my friend who is retiring and I get along in a small trailer for a long trip!

I wish I could have been with Beth to meet Janice and Sheila, too! Can't wait to see the latest pic Beth took of you all!

Ava, it's late for breakfast, but I could use a doughnut! Thanks!

Off to throw some toys for the dogs and wait for the kids to get home from work. Goog went back to work today as the doc told him he looked good----just no lifting for a while! They don't know I came today.

By the way, I modified my signature file so Dinah could be in it. I swear I don't know how some people have huge signature files with several pics, and yet, I had a heck of a time adding just a teensy little photo of my trailer and truck. What am I doing wrong?

Soos, here's the code for mine. All you'd have to do is add the trailer/truck image code next to the pups' image.

Soos, Beth is talking about her insurance cards. You have to get a rider on auto insurance before they will let you cross the border into Canada. You do need your passport.

Thanks for the advice and the picture help, y'all! As you can see, I finally got both the dogs and my trailer and truck posted in my signature! Does the 255 character limit mean you could have a larger picture with the same code for posting it? I may try that. I guess what I am asking is what do they mean by "characters"? Not pixels?

255 characters = ABCDEFG, 12345, etc. Like you would be unable to post the entire text of the Constitution because it's WAY over 255 letters(characters).

So, yes, your picture can be a larger size and that would not affect the character count.
