A beautiful sunny day on tap for today, with maybe a few clouds around once in a while. The record breaking warmth continues on. Yesterday we set another record here. At 5 p.m. they said we were 78 degrees and they didn't know if it would go higher yet or not. But our normal temp for yesterday is 38. So there was definitely a record setter there. Been that way for a week and heading into another one. Everybody's outside getting spring chores done early this year. It wouldn't surprise me if another snowfall or two were to come along before it's over, but you never know.
Yard raking on the agenda for today. Backyard. Spent some time going around on the annual ritual known as "poop patrol"
It's always done in the spring by dog owners after the snows have melted. In other words, clean up the crap out there that's been hiding under the snow. So now that that's done, I will go over the yard with a rake. The front is fine, nothing needs doing out there. Later on when the ground warms up more, I will run my dethatcher over the whole yard.Tina, don't think I haven't given thought to and am still considering listing this house. But I don't really have a desire to travel full time. I think I will always have some "roots" here. I have given thought to selling, doing some traveling and then coming back and settling down here and just travel for short periods. So I need to make sure that I have enough funds behind me from sale of this house to buy another place down the line. But I do agree with you, this place is a labor of love, but also labor intensive although once I get the spring work done, then it's mostly a matter of maintaining. And I can reduce the costs of living in a smaller place.
BJ and Ava, hope you get to feeling better soon. Weather is getting too nice to be sick. Kathleen, by now you are into your new "digs". Hope you like being there and I'm sure you will be visiting with Molly. Irmi and Steve are enjoying their time with Lori and Ernie and Echo, I'm so happy to hear you made it to TN safe and sound and by now I know you have reunited with your family and probably kissed Conner to death.
Soos, get something done about that pain. Get xrays and whatever, but don't just stay home and suffer. Especially with company coming. Lenora, sorry to hear about the accident, but at least nobody was hurt. Seems to be too many accidents out there of late. People just aren't paying attention to what they are doing anymore. Things have been very busy on this forum of late.
And then there are those who are planning to head to GTG's and making that big trip to AK this summer. And I'm sure a lot of us are envious. I'm going to enjoy reading about all those adventures.
Well, I need to run to the store and then come home and get busy around here. Was going to do some stuff outside yesterday and said to heck with it all. Packed up the dogs and we took off for a ride, looked for some work boots and then stopped to visit a friend on the way home. Felt good to just get out on the road again. And although they were in the truck for kind of a long time, they seemed to enjoy it too as they are already bugging me this morning to go again. I did stop by one of the state parks on the way home to let them get out and monkey around at the boat launch area. Tessa of course heded for the water. The lakes up here are slowly starting to open and water is open along the shorelines on most of them. Crazy dog wades out up to her tummy and just stands there admiring the scenery and gulping up a mouthful or two of water Give me the goosebumps just watching her in that icy water

Sure could use some nice weather for a change..
guess it will be another day of not getting anything done.
