My oldest daughter is a first grade teacher. She posted this on her FB:

Phonics lesson of the day "qu".
Me: example, "liquid: can someone give me an example of a liquid."
Student without hesitancy, "wine".
Yep, that's first grade!

Maybe Mitch has some "God Child" in first grade......that would explain it. :lol:
