This same girl probably got into her car and drove home WHILE TEXTING.

It's looks as though the video was taken from the mall security camera. I guess it's ok for mall security to post anything funny on Youtube?

Dunno whether it's ok for the security folks to post, but it certainly reminds me not to pick my nose anywhere, cuz it will probably be on YouTube!!!

I suppose they can post it as long as no one can be identified.

oh my goodness, li, that was hilarious. looks like something that might happen to me. my husband discourages me from texting and walking anymore since i fell down one step in front of a whole crowd of people at a winery. (i promise, we had only begun our tasting, it was still morning ). of course, he didn't care about the onlookers, but when I fell, the camera and my phone went flying ! after he made sure i was alright, he retrieved our valuables and i made him take me on to the next winery. .

Barbara Walters mentioned on the View that the girl is now suing the Mall for not "coming to her rescue" of something. One of the other women mentioned what a difference the young woman could have made if she would have decided to respond in a different manner and to step forward as a spokeswoman for safety. Apparently there is an increasing number of "walking" accidents each year. Not supprising. But for many it is about $$$.

After seeing this on the news I wonder if she didn't do it on purpose. She stole a credit card and racked up charges on it. And I think they said she was a mall employee? She would have known the pond was there.

They were pondering on FOX news why she is suing when you can't even make out who she is in the video. I do think the mall security should be slapped for posting it on Youtube, tho, but Big Brother is everywhere.

Do not ever think that security cameras means it's private for you. Oftentimes the news gets their feeds from security cameras at various places - as do police, etc. And once it's out, it's not private at all (not that it was private before being shared with them). Chances are the security people pulled those tapes for a reason, as those cameras aren't continually manned so ...

I'm wondering if it became public after she made a fuss or before?

She's not suing anymore. This morning's news was that she has quite the criminal record and is now just asking for an apology.

She should have kept her mouth shut and gone home. What an airhead.

As an aside, one of my kids was in a car accident last week when a girl was texting as she tried to turn a corner. She lost control of her car & t-boned the car my student was in. Luckily nobody was hurt in his car (they were driving an old "tank"). Don't know about the dumb chick. Makes my blood boil -- both of them!

Just gonna throw in my 2 cents here....I saw the incident & thought...whatta dummy....then I heard the news about her suing cause 'no one cared & no one came to her rescue' .... but my main thought was....You're gonna sue because you screwed up & you want someone to reimburse you lots of $$$$ because you were texting & not looking where you were going... Why is it so common these days for no one taking the responsibility for their own actions??? And then having the gall to want to sue so that they can make money off their own stupidity... I know I'm old & have a different outlook, but I can't be so 'out of it' that these kind of behaviors are considered acceptable....especially when they're so ridicules....

It's not the suers that we need to be angry at. It's the stupidity of the judges, lawmakers, jurors etc!!
