Tubes of Buttermilk Biscuits

Tubes of Buttermilk Biscuits

Postby mitch5252 » Fri Nov 16, 2012 4:05 pm

You know those tubes of Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits, and they come in a 4-pack/10 each tube?

Well, that's ALWAYS too much for me and/or me and one other.
So, I needed some recently (to try Vickie's Chix 'n Dumplings recipe) and had to buy the 4-pack.

I used the tube I needed and threw the rest in the freezer. Figured it wouldn't hurt anything because I wouldn't use the other 3 tubes before they went bad.

I defrosted a tube today, just for grins, popped 'em in the toaster oven and they were perfectly fine...not a thing wrong with them.
I ate one, well, okay, three, and tossed the rest.

So, now I know I can keep them in the freezer and not have to drive 50 miles to pick them up for a quick Chix 'n Dumplings Dinner!

The End.

PS: and now a new thought just entered my mind...I have NEVER had a Thanksgiving without my Mom's homemade dumplings (well, not HERS in the last 35 years or so since she died), but I always made them. Nobody here to care anymore, so I think I'll try this way of making dumplings for Thanksgiving. Sure is a lot less messy!!
Thank you, Vickie.

That's great! I have never tried to freeze those tubes. Good to know you can.

 I have to confess, I was waiting for the part where you say 'I now have biscuit dough on the ceiling'!
Glad this meal had a good ending, Mitch. And thanks for the info.

Not sure if I am more shocked that there wasn't a biscuit disaster, or that Mitch thanked Vickie without any smarta$$ remark attached to it  !
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
