Going to a party tonight....supposed to bring an appetizer, so made this:

Crescent Holiday Tree
Image

Ingredients:
1 can (8oz) Pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner rolls.
1 8 oz. container chives-and-onion cream cheese
1 tablespoon milk
3/4 medium red bell pepper
1/4 medium yellow bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped fresh broccoli florets
2 Tblsps. sliced baby carrots
1 Tblsp. chopped cucumber
I also added a few sliced green olives w/pimento

Directions
Heat oven to 375F. Remove dough from can in 1 long roll. Cut roll into 16 slices. (I started in middle to make even slices. Roll can be chilled 10 min. in freezer to make it easier to cut)

On ungreased cookie sheet, place slices to form a tree. Start with 1 slice for the top, then 2 below, etc., ending with a row of 5 slices. Use the last slice for tree trunk.

Bake 11 - 13 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute. Use spatula to slide onto cooling rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.

Place tree on serving platter or tray. In small bowl mix cream cheese and milk until smooth. Spread mixture over baked tree.

Cut strips from red bell pepper for garland. Cut star from yellow bell pepper. Decorate tree with chopped bell peppers, broccoli, carrots & cucumber. I also used sliced olives. Other veggies would work too. Serve immediately or cover & refrigerate up to 24 hours before serving.

This is very cool Liz! nice job! and timely too...I'm planning an open house for my neighbors next week!

And I'm thinking this would be a really fun project with a 4 year old, maybe a sweet frosting instead and sprinkles?

Great job there Liz - adding the olives was a nice touch. I looked at the web site; they have 3 variations on it - all looked great.
