4 ounces saltine crackers

1 cup butter

1 cup dark brown sugar

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

¾ cup chopped pecans

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Line pan with parchment paper. Line a rimmed baking sheet with saltine crackers in single layer.
Combine butter and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; boil for 3 minutes.
Immediately pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 6 minutes.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Let sit 5 minutes.
Spread softened chocolate evenly. Sprinkle with pecans. Allow to cool completely, about 25 minutes.
Break toffee into pieces. Enjoy!

I have a similar recipe called English Toffee Squares but it's made with graham crackers. The chocolate chips and pecans are optional.

Melt 2 sticks of butter with 1/2 cup sugar and boil for 3 minutes.

Line cookie sheet (with sides) with Graham crackers.

Pour butter mixture over Graham crackers and bake for 8 minutes at 350°

Both sound good! I am not a fan of pecans (or nuts of any kind) so I am wondering what else I could put on top? Any suggestions?
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, I don't put anything on top of the chocolate for the same reason and they are delicious just the way they are.
