knock off salad

Postby snowball » Mon Oct 28, 2013 10:37 pm

I live near two of my four daughters so number 3 of those 4 girls has been telling me about a salad # 2 has made...we finally got all of the ingredients together!!!
was so yummy her 'inspiration' was a salad at Johnny Corona's I think is the name of the place a Italian place..they tell me I've eaten there but I don't recall it
anyway it was yummy so I will share the ingredients and you can go with it
Iceburg lettuce cut into wedges
applewood bacon cooked and broke up
Granny Smith apple diced
tomato diced
cheese crumbles such as blue cheese or garbanzo (not sure of the spelling and this looks a lot like the beans) but I'm sure you know what I mean
ranch dressing that you have taken a head of garlic and roasted then mashed up then added to the ranch dressing yum!!!
was suppose to have sugared pecans but she forgot them so we didn't have them on think it would have been the total completion
I'm sure that you can adapt this to what ever your needs/likes are...just thought I'd share with you
I had cooked up the whole package of bacon we used a whole (or all most whole) head of lettuce, 1 apple, and 1 tomato fed 4 of us

Sounds good. I think you mean Gorgonzola cheese which is somewhat like blue cheese. Have to try it. Our new favorite bacon prep method is for hubby to lay out an entire package on our pellet grill smoker and smoke cook it for a hour or so. Crispy and smoky yummy. I use some and pack the rest for other meals though it does not last long it is so good.
