Made mine this morning for a breakfast treat. Oh, so nice and not overly sweet.

....haven't thought about the lunch or dinner menu ....yet.

Finally made this - of course, I tried to "shake" the cup to mix. Let me suggest you actually mix it :) The 2nd one for Conni I mixed and that one turned out just the way it's supposed to. Now, don't think I didn't eat mine :)

I have to tell you--strawberry with a little dab of sugar-free strawberry jam and low-fat cool whip--can't be beat. This is also a super recipe if you want to "bake" with grandkids too. It's quick, easy, and good.

Guess this makes lemon Meriengue pie obsolete. Got to give this a try.

I mixed the angel food and a lemon cake mix. It's yummy.

Those might scare me --- but yes, should know them. I already know this has too much sugar in for what I'm supposed to get. Need to see if I can find sugarfree cake mixes. Didn't see any when I got these.

Editing to say - found out the sugar free cake mixes are in a different section of the store. How confusing - at least for me - but will have to find them but hate to throw all this away - however, will do so if I can replace it.

Just found a company online known for their sugarfree cake mixes - will probably order some from them - although don't have room for all the varieties I'd like to try. Have any of you used them? American Quality Foods - http://www.americanqualityfoods.com/ - Pricier, but if good, would be so much better for me ... I like that.

I make a peach or apple crisp that calls for a cake mix sprinkled on top of the pie filling and I tried making it with sugar free cake mix one time. We were very regular(if you know what I mean) for a couple of days. I haven't tried baking one yet to see if that affects us. You might better try one before you order a bunch.

Just adding a thought: With all the scares/unknowns about additivies and what they sub to make a product "sugar free/fat free", I think a full blown sugary treat is permissible IF you can keep it to " just once in a while". :D

I lowered my triglycerides and cholesterol 30 points this summer - one of my steps was limiting sugar to almost none. It worked. My trig.. went from way too high to back in the normal range. Want to keep them there. Some of the sugar substitutes are better than others, granted. But I know that sugar itself and my body are no-nos - so limiting it as much as I can. A restaurant dessert, one thing - but if I'm going to make something at home, I'm sticking with sugarfree as much as possible.

I completely agree, though, Lenora - and it's important to read what they are using, and even when subbing, keeping it to a minimum :)

Oh yes! I had the same problem with some sugar-free hard candy. One of my office workers had bought some at the commissary and brought it to work and shared some with me on a Friday afternoon. They affected me Friday night and all day Saturday. On Monday he gingerly asked me if I had any intestinal problems over the weekend. I thought he was getting pretty personal! Then he explained that he had and he had read the package warning on the candy...I would have never put two and two together! Another thing that rips me apart is anything made with Olestra. That stuff is down right wicked!

I had trouble with the potato chips that had olestra and tried to watch for that after. That seems to me was long ago - well, at least before I started rving. To me that's a past life :) I also have had problems with sugar free candy. Those (and sugar free gums) give me gas big time - something I'd rather not have and don't even like talking about. Sugar free cakes and pies, etc - so far no problem.

I finally got around to trying this and I have to say it's darn good. I did chocolate.
