Crock Pot Chuck Roast with mushroom and onion gravy
2 or 3 lbs Chuck Roast .. boneless..
1 med onion sliced and cut in half
1 pkg of Lipton's Onion and Mushroom Soup Mix
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup (undiluted) or what ever kind you like
2 tsp worchestershire sauce
1 can of mushrooms. (stems and pieces) or sliced mushrooms
(or 1/2 sliced fresh mushrooms.. your choice.)
black pepper
Garlic Powder
Season chuck roast with garlic powder and black pepper then
Brown Chuck Roast .....to sear in the juices.... first... then add in crock
pot in this order...
onions first the chuck roast.. then sprinkle dry soup over meat ..add
can of mushrooms (drained) add can of cream of mushroom soup and
worchestershire sauce.. cover tightly.. cook on high 4 hours or low 6 to
8 hours .
This makes great gravy just add taters and veggies.. and you got a meal
Now I have also thrown the meat in frozen ...hey some times a gals gotta
do things in a hurry.. !! just came out great too..
I do like to brown the meat first..just a quickie... seems to give it a different
taste..
I don't add salt as the Lipton's soup mix has loads of it !
