Pigs In The Cornfield - DO Recipe (Untried)

In this morning's search to find a DOG in my area (so far, unsuccessful), came across this recipe and will definitely try it.
Maggie or any other DO cooks, have you ever tried it?

Pigs in the Corn Field

This is a really great and simple recipe for dutch oven cooking. It was shared with me by Mark Wilkins who devotes a great deal of time towards the Cowboy Way and the American Heritage of Chuck Wagon Cooking.

Half ears of Corn on the Cob
Kielbasa Sausage Links
Diced Onions
Diced Celery
Diced Green Chilies
Diced Potatoes
Diced Bell Peppers
Pork Chops/Ribs/your choice
Couple cans Cream of ............ soup

Stand and line the edge of a Deep Dutch oven with the corn on the cob; place a link of Kielbasa Sausage between each Corn. Place in the well your diced stuff, beginning with the onions & celery. Pour a can of Cream of ...... soup of your choice in over the veggies. Now place your seasoned pork on top of all that and then smother with the other can of soup. These soups can each be different, or the same -- up to you. A couple we've tried are the Campbells Southwest Pepper Jack, or Cheddar Cheese. Experiment & have some fun with this One-Pot meal that is sure to please!

Sounds really good. Do you think it would do Ok in a crock pot?

I bet it would be fine in a crock pot - just have to watch what cut of pork you use. Ribs, yes; tenderloin, not so much.
Well darn - now I've made myself hungry.

I'm actually looking for a place to go camping for 4 or 5 nights...I'll have to try it then (in my little DO)

My crockpot wouldn't be big enough to line with the corn cobs with much in the middle. The LSDOS president did something similar at our last DOG but I don't remember hers having soup. Oh yeah, it did - she had to borrow a can from someone. It was good.

I need to "adjust" the recipe to fit in my tiny DO.
I have learned to adjust a lot since George left me - half an ear of corn, half of a sausage, one little fatty pork chop or 2 ribs...
(mostly though, "adjusting" means tossing out a LOT!) :(
